really gutted to see babel go. would've preferred to see him go on loan as he does require first team football. if he goes to the german/dutch league, he will be a big hit. i think the suarez deal is on, thats why babel has opted to go, due to even more limited game time. as for the downing and young rumours, no chance villa will be selling them unless we offer silly money. the only deals i see happening are suarez and warnock (whom rafa should never have sold) and perhaps another centreback. anyways good luck to Ryan Babel, he deserves to be playing week in week out. hope to see him return to anfield one day YNWA

whats happened to the babel deal? he was not included in last nights squad. as for charlie adam, if they're expecting more than 10m quid for him i think we should look elsewhere. and as for suarez, i highly doubt we will splash 20mil for him.. i think kenny will look for players already based in england.

i actually think he will take #11. what i still dont understand is why ajax just didnt accept babel + cash deal. at least they can get a replacement in the same deal. and ryan was dying to return to ajax. guess they really dont want him back.

i am actually surprised torres wants to leave. i thought the past 2 weeks he's been happy and found his form. what i dont understand even more is why the club decided to publish the transfer request rejection on the homepage. now, torres will face backlash from the fans. it wouldn't matter if we agreed to sell him. but now, the club have revealed the star player wants to leave, but at the same time the club dont wanna sell him. its a double whammy.
if he wants to go, sell him (35mil-40mil is good business). i highly doubt this is about him trying to get more money per week.

i think torres will be out by the weekend. you could see the intent of LFC by making the news of torres' transfer request public. they just want chelsea to come back with an improved bit, at the same time they got the fans to turn on torres (which he deserves, for wanting to leave at such a time)
35Million pounds + D. Sturridge is going to be the price

suarez is a top player. the club wouldn't spend that much money if they didnt think he was worth it. IMO, when we bought torres it was a bigger gamble, as he was still unproven.

QUOTE(smwah @ Jan 30 2011, 05:40 PM) My point will be if torres leave, who can we depends? If we are in badly needs money then ok, go ahead. If we thinking to earn some money for the transfer and in the same time get a good striker to come in, then it is not a good choice. A good players isn't simply like buy and paid, some clubs may demand high price, and if a good player doesn't mean only you are the one who after him. Point is you need some luck on this. I don't see is KD ideas, letting a good player go always not a wise choice, plus the player is behave quite well. He should not have prob with the manager and the players. I see is more like business trade. Anyway, now football is more like a business. Sometimes even you want to stay but the club want to sell you, also can't do much. dude, torres is the one who request for a transfer.

you guys fail to see how vital anelka is for this deal to ever happen. We need him here for the fact that he is proven in the bpl, but more important is that he can play in the europa league for us, whereas suarez is cup tied. If anelka refuse to come, we only have ngog and kuyt for europe, since babel has left, and 50 mil in the bank unable to be spent as the window is closed. Btw, do europa champs gain automatic entry to next year's champs league??

i think the club is deferring on announcing the signing of suarez to see if torres leaves. coz if he does go, suarez will take no.9

QUOTE(digilife @ Jan 31 2011, 08:04 PM) Alan Pardew's press conference has not only changed times but location from the club's training headquarters to St James' Park. Interesting... Monday January 31, 2011 12:00 james perhaps they are going to present the signing of Ireland. but we can expect at least 1 more signing. perhaps warnock to come back on loan

welcome to the club Andy Carroll #9.. though i feel you are overpriced, its the club's money afterall, and they should have been more than satisfied with your potential to invest such a huge sum. btw, can you please cut off the pony tail?

QUOTE(kazuki85 @ Feb 1 2011, 01:34 AM) We lost Torres (for a rather inflated fee) and got Suarez, Carroll and Charlie Adam. With a net spending of about 20m. Good deal I'd say! ya. basically suarez was in regardless of torres' deal (meaning we had set aside budget for that) as for carroll (also highly inflated) and adam, they are brought in with money from the torres sale. adam #11??

its finally hit me, we are losing fernando torres. i would've been more than happy if we got suarez and torres never left.. but i suppose this is for the greater good. Adios El Nino. i will remember the fond memories you brought to our club. YNWA p/s: now we have to brace ourselves for torres + drogba at chelsea. that is as lethal as it gets IMO. dont even think for a second fernando will go there and flop. he is world class. i'm actually gutted to see him leave. even though we have replacements, he is still a class above them presently in my eyes.

torres out for 50 Mil. Carroll in for 35 Mil Adam in for 14mil. that leaves 1 mil for all the helicopter fees today no chance we are going in for anymore guys. the bank is dry. feel we should've gotten 1 more winger though. how in the world are we gonna fit gerrard, meireles, kuyt, lucas, maxi, adam in the middle if we play suarez + carroll upfront
