yea go for the i7 =D take good care of it by using screen and keyboard protector Just download HWmonitor to check.

Hey Guys I am planning on a Laptop BUdget around 3.6k Max

I require a 15 Inch laptop with 1080p

Was looking at the Sager 8130 or the 5160.

But

1) The 8310 has no Optimus ( runs a GTX460) which means low battery life
2) 5160 uses the GT540 which is a little weaker than i hoped for.

So my question is are there any other alternatives?

I will use my machine for mainly Gaming/Portability so i need the best of both worlds for that price.

Any recommendations?

Don't think there's better alternatives at the moment... The new Dell XPS 15 and Asus N53SV (Singapore version) both runs on GT540 as well even though price range is more or less the same...

im in jb laa.. here 5750g so many if put together can build small room edy



XPS15 can be upgraded to 1080p display , but u already mention sager.. now that is one hard brand n model to win if compared spec by spec. sager only weakness.. stock n availability

i know some say it look dull n all, but i dont think so at all.. flat n simple design

Lets say they are both the same price, Because of the configurations.

Which would you get?

Do you think the GT540 can be overclocked to GT550 Speeds if not higher??

and will it run at high settings on 1366x768 resolution on most games??

Some forumer said that GT550M is basically an overclocked version of GT540M

which shop in digital mall offers good services?

or should i rephrase it to which shop in digital mall should be avoided if i want to buy laptop there?

Hi, i would like to ask about the sandy bridge gpu..
if the laptop has discrete graphic card, will the sandy bridge work together with the graphic card or you only can choose which gpu to use? (like hybric cross fire for intel HD 3000 with eg. 6470.. or with GT 540M)

It basically chooses only 1 to work at any one time. If the graphic isnt all the intensive, it'll use the onboard GPU (SB Chipset). If it couldnt, it'll switch over to the external GPU (which in this case, ATi or GeForce)
