Yeah I liked the specs too, but sometimes is quite headache when my unit kb is not sensitive, can't detect battery if plugged in at the middle of usage and more, lazy to explain.
hmm.gif Don't think so if u're talking about 3D like in the cinemas, it will then require a 3D screen, 3D glasses and 3D movie file. But since technology is updating frequently, there will be no need to use 3D glasses in the future to watch 3D movies.

I think u really need to send back to service...like my acer desktop...just bought 3 weeks, the psu failure caused my mobo overheat...==. But the highpoint service quite good change all the parts for me, also involved the graphic card due to potential damage. ^^

if u mean the advance technology it is impossible, bc the graphic card dun have that feature. If using the old way, just go download the 3d movie lo...then diy the spec by self?? XD

4820TG is 14" priced below 2.5k.its using 1st gen i5 processor n chipset so it wont have any problem with the recall.
u can always buy 5750G like us. Very good laptop for 2.9K.But it is affected by the recall as it is using SB chipset.

its just the affected chip.most probably the data will be fine as long as the HDD is connected to port 0-1 as the affected port is from port 2-5.
Most laptops only using 1 SATA drive and usually connected to port 0 or 1.
In 5750G,only the DVD drive is connected to port 2 while HDD is connected to port 0.

HDD is not affected, just DVD Rom drive is, there would be degradation and chances of it not working anymore... But someone said Acer would do an exchange with the faulty SB Mobo?

I don't think the screen is 3D, not in this price range.

Oh yeah, it happens to me too. Damn it, I was so nervous that time. U have to press it a bit longer and when u feel the air coming out from the left vent, it is going to open. My guess is that a cold start of the laptop is harder to start.

if acer does announce a recall for this 5750g (currently 3410 & 3810 are being recalled), then take to acer customer service instead.
