Just ask the retailer, chipset problem will be solve if any recall from acer. The seller will inform all the customer to replace the mobo when the new chipset from intel arrive to the hand. And tried asus N43 series...i can said lucky that i bought acer...=="".. Asus temperature is hight the left hand hard disk site can feel the heat by compared to acer..

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Feb 8 2011, 05:01 PM) Yeah I liked the specs too, but sometimes is quite headache when my unit kb is not sensitive, can't detect battery if plugged in at the middle of usage and more, lazy to explain. I think u really need to send back to service...like my acer desktop...just bought 3 weeks, the psu failure caused my mobo overheat...==. But the highpoint service quite good change all the parts for me, also involved the graphic card due to potential damage. ^^ |

Added on February 10, 2011, 3:41 pmDear all 5750g users, acer come out their official announcement about the sandy bridge issue. Acer Malaysia is Fully Committed to Support Customers on Intel’s Sandy Bridge Chipset Issues On 31 January 2011, Intel Corporation has discovered a design issue in a recently released chipset, the Intel® 6 Series (code-name Cougar Point). In some cases, the Serial-ATA (SATA) ports within the chipsets may degrade over time, potentially impacting the performance or functionality of SATA-linked devices such as hard disk drives and DVD-drives. The chipset is utilized in the Acer Aspire range of PCs / notebooks with Intel’s latest 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ processors (code-named Sandy Bridge). The design error only affects the chipset, but not the 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ processors. Acer would like to reassure affected customers that you can continue to use your PC / notebook without compromise. We have also confirmed with Intel that the probability of failure is very low, and estimated to be no greater than 1.5% over a year, well within industry averages for system board failure rates. We stopped shipping the affected products on 1 February and have initiated an immediate recovery process on this matter which covers customers, channel partners, retailers and distributors. The 2 affected products are: Aspire 5750G-2634G64 notebook Aspire M3920-523X7 desktop You may also run a self test through Intel guided instructions at: http://www.intel.com/consumer/products/pro...ors/chipset.htm We are offering affected customers the following options: Option 1: Motherboard replacement under the terms of standard warranty at no cost once it is made available from Intel. Acer will arrange pick up from your location that are covered by local courier service. We believe this is the most convenient option for you. By selecting this option, you do not need to re-install or re-configure any applications you might already have on the product. Backup of data is not necessary but advisable. Option 2: Swap your product with another Acer Aspire product of equivalent amount upon comprehensive inspection that the affected product is isolated to Cougar Point’s chipset issue and none other persisting issues from now till 15 April 2011. Option 3: Full refund upon comprehensive inspection that the affected product is isolated to Cougar Point’s chipset issue and none other persisting issues from now till 15 April 2011. Updates and latest progress will be posted through our official website and other appropriate means on Sandy Bridge products. We thank you for your understanding and support. Once again, please accept our apology for any inconvenience caused. Contact Information: Acer Technical Support: 1-800-88-1918 (9am to 6pm / Mondays to Fridays) http://202.53.141.223/support/index.html so wat option will u like to choose? Maybe u can try, but now still dun noe where can u get ur refund. Does the seller willing to?( No mean acer, but retailer).Because i be a saleman b4, can play trick to refuse or ask urself personally to contact Acer. This is a problem. So sum up, u might face other extra fees for ur transportation and phone call.
