i saw some 5750G user said that temp is quite high.
too bad...
><"
*
83 when playing games is not high at all... It's quite normal and considered good for quad without a cooler.... The idle temp is quite impressive only around 50 degrees for a quad core without a cooler...

true, 83 is not consider as high. i saw my fren HP DV2 with 8400m, the temp up to 99++...Zzz
*
Haha that's exceptional... the 99++ probably the GPU and not the CPU because 8000 series have overheating issues anyways...

Intel HD 3000 is good enough for any other tasks other than gaming IMO.... This is to save battery and keep your temperature lower at times.... If you want something to run on the GT540M, right-click and click NVidia Control Panel, choose the program u desire and click run with High-performance Nvidia processor... Hence ur program would run with GT540M...

and revert it back to default. then I reinstall flash player.
now it gives me the real good quality.
no more problem when I watch HD video on youtube.
also I tried with Google o3d.
superb, i feel so happy. biggrin.gif

another question, are the USB ports on this laptop all 3.0? or is it just one port 3.0 while another two is 2.0?
*
Yup only 1 is USB 3.0.. The Blue colour one..

= = I thought it's switchable graphics
sweat.gif
brows.gif Go get it!
Yeap, idle means opening less programmes right?
This laptop is super fast compare my old 1.
Put it at high performance under the fan will be very good if want to do heavy task.
hmm.gif Now my keyboard got problem.
Or maybe I just realised it only, the "~" and "*" button can be pressed but will not show when not pressing another button.
Meaning, ~=SHIFT + `
But have to press another key then only it will show, very small problem to me but wonder if it happens to other users too.
Should I bring it for exchange?
hmm.gif
For me not a problem the keyboard.
*
Nvidia Optimus is different from ATI switchable because it's switches automatically for you when doing intensive work while ATI's u can switch manually...

Idle means opening no programs and leaving the computer there..

hey guys which one i should buy,,acer 5750g or dell xps 15?
should i wait asus N53SN?
i want use it for high end gaming...
thx
*
What High end gaming do u mean? Full HD reso with 8x AA??
If just HD resolution + 2xAA, 540M can play most recent games smoothly.. No need wait for N53SN since won't be much better also for the steep price difference..

XPS15 is out of the topic unless u wait till they refresh to SB during March

Hey, Whats the battery life on the 5750G? Could you please test it? really want to know how good it is.
*
Apparently a forummer posted it could last 4hours on light web-browsing... Which is awesome for a quad-core..

u meant run at 1366 x 768? that is a good news

thks 4 the link, found this:

"The performance of the 540M lies between the Radeon HD 5650 and 5730 in our first benchmarks. Therefore, the 540M is about 10% faster than the GT435M using DDR3 graphics memory. Using GDDR5 it may be as fast as the HD 5750 / 5770.

Paired with a fast CPU, demanding games of 2010 should run fluently in medium to high details and SXGA resolution. In our tests for example Call of Duty: Black Ops and StarCraft 2 ran fluently in high details and 1360x768. More gaming benchmarks can be found in the lower section of this page."

Can play PES 2011 1920x1080 resolution without problem.. I think it should be slightly faster than HD5730...

*
we know exactly what you asking lar...

If you're really have doubts, just ask any 5750G user to post up their GPU-Z image for you to clarify... Don't think there's a GDDR5 variant for 540M either..

*
Dell XPS 15 lose in every single aspect except the speakers probably.. How can u even compare it?

well.. If it doesn't have a subwoofer, then all laptops are pretty similar... XPS15 has better speakers becoz of subwoofers...

Guys I was just wondering, why is desktop has better index score compare to 5750. (My friend ask)

Spec of desktop:
Phenom x4 (7.2)
4G DDR3 1333 (7.3)
Ati 5550 1GB GDDR5 (6.9 for both windows and gaming exp)

Curious about graphic and ram
*
desktop and laptop of course different la.. desktop version is mostly faster than laptop.. if not what's the point of getting desktop?

anyways, the windows aero is low because it uses the Intel HD3000 to measure instead of 540M..

Thanks, but even with newer graphic card for eg 540M is better than 5550? And with the same DDR3 ram, why is it 7.3 in desktop but 6.9 in laptop?

And thanks for the info of windows experience, how to make it calculate by ATI cause desktop is 6.9?
*
Will leave this to Sifus to explain further and in depth... the ram in notebook is not the same as the ones in desktop if you've seen the real thing of course different performance...

why are you so concern about WEI? If wanna know gaming performances, 3D mark is a much better benchmark...

Nobody can answer whether this laptop is wwan ready (eg. with empty pci-e slot & simcard slot)??

Got a very good deal today at Lowyat, very tempted to get it. Best of all, it has Bluetooth & it is version 3.0
*
How are you sure there's Bluetooth? If it's told by sellers, they don't know much about their own laptops anyways, u have to check the box urself to confirm..

Pci-e slot probably can try to spot it whether u can see it in the pictures goodday posted? Dun think laptop nowadays have it coz the use of it is becoming lesser n lesser
