Well for no one know how the defects are, but it definitely affects a lot, if not all the manufacturers won't be performing such immediate measures...

For ur usage, A42JP, N43JF, 4820TG is sufficient already, just get those if u need ASAP, u won't regret it also I am sure..

If I happened to be bringing my laptop to Australia, should there be any problem in recalling my lappy in Australia? Coz I purchased my Acer 5750G last 2 weeks in Malaysia and I am leaving to Australia next week for my studies. Btw, how many months is the warranty period for laptop's motherboard (international warranty)?

International Warranty is 1 year... Unless U buy the Acer Super Care 2 then u get 3 years international

i asked the acer customer centre, they say the international warranty can be claimed at australia as well.

btw, which part of australia wil u be going to?

I am heading to Perth.....presumely there is a service center located nearby Perth or else need to bring in to the Acer HQ.

Thx for the link, btw anyone can clarify that which SATA port are we using?
After reading, it says that the best way to do now is to switch the HDD and DVD drive to the 6GB/s SATA port.
So, now that we need to use 2 ports(assuming HDD and optical drive) any sifus can guide how to switch them to the 6GB/s port?
Is disassembling the laptop necessary?
Okay 5750G owners, the HDD is safe in port 0 while the optical drive is in port 2.

^The HDD is, but not the optical drive...

they were saying a 6% degradation after 3 years and normal users won't be able to notice it.. Seems like it wasn't a really big deal after all...

But worse case will be failed detection of D drive(optical drive) if it's serious, better safe than sorry.

Its not the CPU problem, its the chipset problem...

G determine dedicated graphic card...

so... what are u 5750g owners gonna do about this ?

Hmmm....I will swap to other model IF the Specs are the same...

If its the same spec, then its the same problem..

I wouldn't mind if the same Spec with the fixed Chipset...

and that would need to wait...
