Supercurio released Voodoo sound app on market. He's working on Voodoo kernel that would work with Voodoo sound. Hope it's coming very soon.

Using DXJPA wifi modules but still 99% wifi on battery history since 3days ago. Wat are you guys' configuration? QUOTE(headhunter7 @ Jan 10 2011, 11:35 PM) HAHA nice " Y U " meme I have no idea. I'm just using it as how the phone allows me, not much configuration. Probably currently, I'm turning off auto sync and brightness is set to the lowest (at yet it glimmers like noone business, auto sync turned off because my data plan isn't activated yet =.=' ) But that's about it, for everything else, I'm using normally, angry birds, ebook , swiping left and right for no reason, an hr+ of calls, sms almost the whole day. QUOTE(night_wolf_in @ Jan 11 2011, 01:17 AM) i think all seams easy. only step one is confusing. what do u mean install any eclair rom? my best way is, flash to Speedmod kernel ... download Darky's v8 wipe version ...install through CWM (speedmod kernel have cwm integrated) .. viola!my current rom is JPJPJ, and CSC and MODEM are also something different (middle east firmware) QUOTE(eetony @ Jan 11 2011, 02:05 AM) go market, search for google pinyin ... once installed go into Settings, Text menu, check the tick box beside google pinyin .. viola! u can now use chinese input ... QUOTE(alvinz @ Jan 11 2011, 05:57 AM) eagerly waiting for it.. hehe ... wonder wats the difference with hardcore's sound/voice settings ... According to supercurio, it detects surrounding noise and adjusts mic gain automatically unlike speedmod, which is a quick fix. Also, it boosts FM radio bass. I like that cos I hate the sharp treble on my radio. Some other sound tweaks possibly a higher sample rate and such. Added on January 11, 2011, 6:55 amBTW, the kernel's out!! Go crazy people! Start testing. ![]() http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...321&postcount=1 FYI, this version doesn't fix distortion of sound during recording using mic. Supercurio tweeted "I'm already excited about the next feature: microphone auto-gain. Will be 100% by hardware, with the highest quality physically possible." Just crossover to the Dark side. Got some questions:
I remember someone posted before that changing product code will result in factory reset, is this true? What is the impact if I remain my product code at XEE and just add APN? (Besides warranty issue) |

I'll stick with add APN at the moment. This post has been edited by lch78: Jan 11 2011, 08:50 AM |

would it be compulsory to subscribe to data plan to use sgs? i'm a bit reluctant to switch my package now since most of the places i went to usually have free wifi..would there be data transfer going in the background whilst using this phone that might get me charged w/o realizing it?

However you can always stop all the background data transfer in the settings. So, nope, it is not compulsory to subscribe data plan but better to have one coz if you use data without data plan, don't be surprise if you get a big bomb at the end of the month from your telco... Btw, I am using 500Mb plan and every month I only use 100Mb to 200Mb still even though I am at wifi spot 80% of the time. |

Nope...it's not necessary...I'm not on a data plan right now and I only use data as and when I feel like. You can actually turn off your data mode on the SGS (if ur in Froyo) by holding the off/on button (on the right of the screen) till a menu pops up...you can select data network activated/deactivated from there. However, this may affect u receiving mms...so u probably wanna download an APN app like APNdroid which can turn off ur data yet still receive MMS. Hope this helps. (btw APNdroid has suspiciously stopped working for me...wonder if anyone else has faced this)

Never get to try DXJPE, my lappy went to factory so cannot update with Kies. Now flash to Darky V8 with CWM. I think @mengsuan already give a review of DXJPE in V11 - summary: nothing different..Added on January 11, 2011, 10:56 am QUOTE(reehdus @ Jan 11 2011, 11:50 AM) Nope...it's not necessary...I'm not on a data plan right now and I only use data as and when I feel like.
