I still remember before sheep put the curse on Chelsea and Kalou came out by saying this.

Salomon Kalou: Chelsea can win the title by Christmas

And today he is regretting for not scoring in most of the opportunity.... how things turn around... they really wrap up themself by the christmas... Lol...

From the looks of it, they are gonna progress past to quarter finals..their next opponent is India, thrashed by Australia and Bahrain 4-0 and 5-2 respectively.

we lost by a solidatary point. we got decisions against us when playing the champs both home and away.

no point looking at those things now. lets put some perspective on this weekend's match.

Trio should return

United are expected to be boosted by the return of three key players for Sunday's trip to Tottenham.

Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Edwin van der Sar missed last weekend's FA Cup win over Liverpool, but should be available for the visit to White Hart Lane.

"Wayne and Nemanja have both trained well this week and should be fit for Sunday. Edwin is a little bit behind them, but he should train today and I think he'll be okay," revealed Sir Alex at his pre-match press conference.

Team news

14 January 2011

Harry Redknapp expects Gareth Bale to be fit to face United on Sunday.

The midfielder departed early from the loss at Everton on January 5 with a back problem and was rested for last weekend's FA Cup win against Charlton.

"Gareth has missed a couple of days training but he should be okay," reported Harry on Friday. "We're in good shape. We've pretty much a full squad."

Younes Kaboul is available again after suspension and that leaves long-term injured Ledley King (groin) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) on the sidelines.

I remembered saying at the time that those stories were bullshit before he left. But then he moved. Seeing how big 'his world' hat gotten, I guess people shouldn't be surprised by it. We don't sell our best players. And Giggs, Scholes and Gary have shown even if they get old, we would still keep them to the end if they are still of any use to us and they want to be here. Beckham still had a lot of life in him as a footballer back then. There's no way we would just give up on him. It must have been going on for a while behind the scenes for it to happen. His contract was running down with only 2 years left before he moved I think. That's why the price Madrid got him was cheap. They knew he wanted out, and possibly with no intention whatsoever to extend that, and that leaves us with a problem and we lost our bargaining position.

If thing could change, I would have ask for Beckham not to have 'mania' attached to him. He would just be another top player at Utd, who is regarded as a future legend and be with us till the end of his footballing life, or close to his end. We got Ronaldo, and they both would rotate the RW spot. Imagine that. But we parted ways. We didn't get Ronaldinho, but we got Ronaldo and Ole who was a fulltime RW at the time got injured midway through that season and never returns to play there anymore which gave plenty of room for CR and Fletcher to develop. It may have taken a few years, but look at where they are now. We suffered a little at first, but we reaped plenty of rewards.

Now Ronaldo have left the building and Nani have grown into a consistent provider for us, and in Valencia we have someone who is consistent in his play. Soon Giggs and Scholes will go and it seems Gary's time is over but we got Rafael taking his place. VDS will call it a day soon too. SAF has his targets this time I'm sure. We don't have to fight it out to sign the top rated GKs this time round with most top sides already having their own top rated GKs. The team is set for years to come, but I wonder if SAF himself have a list of who should be taking over from him. God that won't be an easy one. SAF have done his best to prepare our team to last for years after he goes, and give the next manager a helping hand in the process. Let's hope whoever that is, will just continue the work SAF have done. Unrealistic I guess to hope for that. Just look at Liverpool.

We probably inserted a buy back clause in the Eikrem deal so no problem! laugh.gif

Matthew James? Returned to us already:

James Returns To United

QUOTE
Posted on: Tue 04 Jan 2011

Preston North End can now confirm that Matty James has officially returned to Manchester United following the completion of all the relevant paperwork.

James, who was on a season long loan with North End, was halfway through his second loan spell with the Lilywhites but has now returned to his parent club.

The midfielder made 30 appearances for North End, scoring three times, with arguably the most memorable goal coming in last season's 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest at Deepdale.
