i suppose the 5450's rear speakers need to be plugged to a electrical socket, right?

no lar its not banned here.. still can get everywhere, but just limited. I heard from sumwhere also, last time they say its launched way slower than other country.. need to pass dunno what QC test ?

no hole...i went there and find but cant find a stand ngam wan...u'll need some help from some tape to hold it

yeah, me too looking for a pair of stand for my rear's speaker, so ikea's one cannot fix Z-5500 speakers, maybe need to do so welding

still hunting for it, ipoh here quite limited place for speaker stand ( most stand are for huge speaker use like the one for pub or disco !

so, since both z680 n Audigy 2zs could decode dts, will both provide the same results?

the only diff being is that you need digital cable to decode using z680, and analoge cable if decode using soundcard.

u dun need z680/z5500 if u're using soundcard to decode dts,u might wan to consider klipsch PM 5.1 Ultra which sounds better

by the way , how do you connect your xbox 360 to your z-5500 ? i am planning to get a xbox360 this year , just waiting for MS to workout their console ROD problem first!

I bought myself a monster optical cable. theres 3 options for u. optical, coxial or the analog.

ROD? trust me, i believe the problem lies more on the user themselves. Just buy local units. Ive been using it so far no prob. Admit that it does produce alot of heat compare to ps2... but as long ur out in the open, alot ventilation, then should be no problem. Or even if u can wait, heard theres xbox360 version 2, using better chips.. supposingly produce lesser heats.

whatever option, its ur choice.. have fun.

if u're getting optical cable...u dun need branded ones...
the sound quality was least affected for branded/non-branded optical cables...they jz differ physically

my cheap(RM20+) optical cables produce almost the same sound quality as my canare coaxial cable(RM100) on my z5500...mayb its the max performance z5500 can go...perhaps they would show more significant difference in hi-fi system between coaxial n optical...

stands...DIY or wall mount it...
logitech doesnt come out wif their stands and the satelites' "leg" was so alien...its hard to find a suitable one
