definitely not memory card. Err shows in the top lcd. i take out the lens n put to M mode also like that. get Err at random times but very frequently.

oh noo...bad sign bad sign.

tested my new d7000 just now. tried some fast shutter shots. looks like it's jamming.

anything above 1/800, when i press the button, i hear the clark then the top lcd blinks Err and i get a black image. i press shutter button again, i hear clark and then it's ready for another shot. press again, same thing, hear sound, Err and black image.

what could be the problem. shutter unit problem or wad?
*
Hmm, might be an issue with your unit. My D700 does 1/8000 without issues. I've burst 8fps with it before too at 1/8000s.

yeah....happens randomly during burst 6fps and also during single shots. happens at lower shutter speed too. weird thing is, the first few days i was using it with no problem. then kept it in the bag for 2 days, then today saw someone posted this http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=...es=5#post-51600

went to test my cam and prob happens.

1) which centre should i go...PKNS or berjaya times square?

2)of course i would like good service for my cam, fast and efficient.

3)how's the procedure like. how long would i need to leave my cam there?

dark could be because the shutter doesnt open. by dark i mean it is actually totally black. nothing at all. not the usual underexposed dark u get when your shutter speed is too fast for ambient light.

yeah well, maybe your unit is ok.

mine when i burst, i just hold the button, sometimes it'll stop after a few and show Err. sometimes it'll stop at the first or 2nd shot.

and when i check the playback....all the shots that i heard click properly, the image shows but the last image just before it stop and show Err is black. totally black.

thanks. so i need to bring my warranty card right? do i need the receipt?

will the camera be affected in other areas after sending to them? i was worried like after they open up everything and put it back together, maybe the glue for the rubbers or the screws might not be as good as new. is that possible?

try higher. try 1/8000. at first i tried it had once or twice stuck. then i remount the lens, still once or twice. then i mange to really burst kaw kaw at 6fps with no problem for a while....then after that, now it's frequently like that. even for single shot or continuous low at 3fps.

see this - http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=3044

try pointing at something bright and see whether it open and closes in time.

doh.gif okokok lemme explain.

it happens frequently and randomly. whether it's burst at 6fps, burst at 3fps or single shot. it gives me the Err intermittently at various shutter speeds once the err comes out, i off it, take out the lens, i can see that the mirror is flipped up and the shutter is covering the sensor. i then have to on back, press the shutter again then only the mirror will drop. but before i take out the lens, i can see the image review that it's all black. sad.gif

mine doesnt have the black line at the top or bottom like the link i posted. but u read what the TS said, he also had intermittent Err probs with the mirror/shutter jamming.

Added on December 28, 2010, 7:06 pmthe funny thing is, i used the cam quite a lot, more than 1k shots as it went to the 2nd folder on my memory card since i got it. nothing happened, went to klcc, icity, church event and all no prob.

until just now, decided to test fast shutter speed. after 2 shots, gave me Err. and then now it keeps on happening quite frequently. i would say once every 3 shots on average.
