QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 28 2010, 10:30 AM) I think RM1700 is probably grey set. The units brought in by Sigma cost over 2k isn't it? Not quite sure. Yeah.. I guess it's a gray set as well.bro Celz can explain the diff between gray set and ori set?? I don't really get this term, does it mean the seller didn't pay any tax for the thing or what? sorry.. noob question. QUOTE(elainor @ Dec 28 2010, 10:52 AM) In my humble opinion, it has a better quality, better bokeh, better built quality. doesn't feel like cheapo lens. unlike 50mm 1.4well it's my opinion still hehehe |

Does it matter in the quality of the lens? or it's just warranty matter??

QUOTE(eddy230379 @ Dec 28 2010, 04:39 PM) bro ... its not the coating on the lens ... but the outer barrel ... the normal Sigma coating is a bit like powder & many people complained bout it lasting ... the newer coating has smoother surface ... can I know when the new *thing* will come out? I am planning to buy one soon. |

QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Dec 28 2010, 05:54 PM) yeah....happens randomly during burst 6fps and also during single shots. happens at lower shutter speed too. weird thing is, the first few days i was using it with no problem. then kept it in the bag for 2 days, then today saw someone posted this http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=...es=5#post-51600 I don't know about that.went to test my cam and prob happens. 1) which centre should i go...PKNS or berjaya times square? 2)of course i would like good service for my cam, fast and efficient. 3)how's the procedure like. how long would i need to leave my cam there? Added on December 28, 2010, 5:55 pm dark could be because the shutter doesnt open. by dark i mean it is actually totally black. nothing at all. not the usual underexposed dark u get when your shutter speed is too fast for ambient light. but there is one time I did burst mode w/ my body *just for testing* (in this case the lens cap is closed). it worked fine. |

QUOTE(SoLiD @ Dec 28 2010, 08:46 PM) VR needs to be turned off when you mount your camera on a tripod and doing long exposure, if not the VR system will cause some shakes in the picture QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Dec 28 2010, 08:52 PM) doing a stress test now to find out problems earlier might be better than dying when u need it or when your warranty is out i'm using nikon 18-200mm VR1. happens when autofocus is enabled and almost in manual focus. happens in all modes, AF-C, AF-S, AF-A. heck....even when there's no lens mounted and no memory card, it still gives the Err. QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 28 2010, 09:02 PM) When shutter is above 1/500s it is best to turn off. (Read this somewhere before). The VR mechanism resonate at 500hz, if you go anything above 1/500, VR actually deteriorate the image, or so claimed. Okay. I see long shutter speed VR off.. that means if I want to capture water motion people don't use VR.am I right? would be nice then. |

QUOTE(yoganraj @ Dec 29 2010, 11:00 PM) wow.. d700... i only got pocket money for d7000 If I were you I will go for decent dslr body. like d90 or d3100 or d5000 and get the best lens I could get.thanks to celciuz,geekster129,adriancs(thank you for your sarcasm) and laputa83 going for D7000 and I believe you will need a lot of lenses w/ you. hmm.. 1 body + wide + potrait + tele lenses is better compare to pro body + 18105 kit lens IMO. once again IMO Added on December 30, 2010, 10:49 am QUOTE(stsh90 @ Dec 30 2010, 01:48 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « ISO 1600 on D90. in an event just now. maybe should've lowered it =\ and the result? still good! QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Dec 30 2010, 01:24 AM) good deal if u ask me . Thanks for the only reply bro.. still have 10month warranty . btw , bump up to iso1600 just now ,without speedlight , on my d3000 I will get my first non-kit lens tonight QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 30 2010, 10:59 AM) ^ I used to think that way, good lens + normal body is enough. But once I went up to D700, all my lens got an 'upgrade' instantly LOL. bro celz. people usually say 50mm is the most normal prime lens. whereby you can di portrait, and most of normal activities. I am wondering does that mean 50mm on FX body or DX body?? |

QUOTE(adriancs @ Dec 30 2010, 11:09 AM) Its 50mm on full frame. 50mm lenses used to be sold as "kit lens" 30 years ago with new cameras, before the invention and proliferation of zoom lenses. On crop sensor, 50mm is like a mid telephoto, equivalent to 85mm FOV on full frame. Not as useful as compared to 50mm FOV. QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 30 2010, 11:11 AM) Is that mean 35mm is it's equivalent on DX lens? but why people are using 50mm on DX lens for portrait nowadays? |
