I think RM1700 is probably grey set. The units brought in by Sigma cost over 2k isn't it? Not quite sure.

Why sigma is more exp then nikkor Eh??

Warranty matter. For the lens, should be original. Wait, is there a fake Sigma going around? Not too sure about this.

bro ... its not the coating on the lens ... but the outer barrel ... the normal Sigma coating is a bit like powder & many people complained bout it lasting ... the newer coating has smoother surface ...

yeah....happens randomly during burst 6fps and also during single shots. happens at lower shutter speed too. weird thing is, the first few days i was using it with no problem. then kept it in the bag for 2 days, then today saw someone posted this http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=...es=5#post-51600

went to test my cam and prob happens.

1) which centre should i go...PKNS or berjaya times square?

2)of course i would like good service for my cam, fast and efficient.

dark could be because the shutter doesnt open. by dark i mean it is actually totally black. nothing at all. not the usual underexposed dark u get when your shutter speed is too fast for ambient light.

Yeah! Brought mine 50mm 1.4g. I will test it out asap!!

VR needs to be turned off when you mount your camera on a tripod and doing long exposure, if not the VR system will cause some shakes in the picture

doing a stress test now to find out problems earlier might be better than dying when u need it or when your warranty is out
i'm using nikon 18-200mm VR1. happens when autofocus is enabled and almost in manual focus. happens in all modes, AF-C, AF-S, AF-A.

heck....even when there's no lens mounted and no memory card, it still gives the Err.

When shutter is above 1/500s it is best to turn off. (Read this somewhere before). The VR mechanism resonate at 500hz, if you go anything above 1/500, VR actually deteriorate the image, or so claimed.

Just look through the lens for any fungus, shine a torch or something. If the fungus is obvious you should be able to see it. Google for the sample images.

^ I used to think that way, good lens + normal body is enough. But once I went up to D700, all my lens got an 'upgrade' instantly LOL.

Its 50mm on full frame. 50mm lenses used to be sold as "kit lens" 30 years ago with new cameras, before the invention and proliferation of zoom lenses.

On crop sensor, 50mm is like a mid telephoto, equivalent to 85mm FOV on full frame. Not as useful as compared to 50mm FOV.

It is referring to 50mm on full frame.
