Hi Guys... Since i'll be moving to a new house i'm planning to get a moderate/mini?? sized (those about 30cm L x 20cm H whole package with lights) aquarium for my room... gonna start with some shrimps, tetras and of course.. mini water grasses??

Since i'm a total newbie in this aquarium thing, what are the important factors that i should consider? temperature etc etc.. thumbup.gif

Lance888: just get normal sand from fish shop.
Or just take from waterfall :p
If you gonna put it into normal fish tank, the sand will turn yellowish and sometimes algea :)

Kabyss87: please read first page of this topic :)

thank u all for the reply. smile.gif i have 2 tanks. 1 tank i already use small stones (appx 1 cm ea) to fill up the bottom part of the tank. i was mistake earlier, the 1 i look for is a small tiny 0.5cm rocks. lol

it's really bored if the bottom of tank is empty. usually ppl use sand as gravel for what purpose? hmm.gif

As you said, if bottom is empty then not nice.
So some ppl put sand or small stone as decoration

If you are using stone you pick from roadside, please beware that those stones might give acidic or alkaline effect to your water
If those stones are from fish shop, I still recommend you to soak in water first for one week before put into aquarium

Yes you can do it in smaller tank, 1 feet or even smaller
Good side of smaller tank is that you need lower budget to setup
But for small tank, chemical swing is very large, let's say one fish died at a 3feet tank and 1 feet. Other fishes in 3 feet tank dont effect much. But in 1 feet, this might wipe out your whole population

Co2 tank is not necessary if you are having some moss, rotala and fern. Try look at page 96- now. We had a short discussions about this not long ago

i wish the stone pick from roadside can be use, but i doubt it. previously i had nightmare with putting stone in tanks which cause me 3 batch of dead fish before i learn the mistake. i use tap water to wash then put under sun and finally use boiled water rinse it before put in tank. biggrin.gif

Yes, the filter discount almost 25% to 28%.
Better grab your chance, & don't miss it!

Sorry , no offense... if you guys looking for cheaper price do remember go NA or Irene Aquarium or Any other LFS instead of EA, its because they are selling it at List Price plus they in Shopping centre,, price more expensive that other lfs..
they sell Soil at RM97 (9 Liter) but NA or other lfs only RM88.... u choose.... ( this price is before discount , i mean is the TAG price on it... i would choose NA Tag price and ask for DC...)
