Really, ppl. If you have WE8:LE patched version you can get up and running quicly.
AS I said before, go to options, select mem-card. Select the to import option file from WE8LE. Confirm all the messgaes. Vioila have Eng. Player names already.

I may be among the minority here that doesn't own a PC & DVD burner. So that's why I use this abovemention method.

As for waiting for a patch. I may not actually arrive. Since most of these guys (Patchmakers) are actually waiting for PES5. (they just practicing skills now)

From what I hear hear, the editing comunity is very pleased with the kit and boot editor this time, so they may not patch at all. Ha.ha. just kidding. Acutally Konami have encrypted the kits somewhat, no one has figured it out yet. Most ppl, are now making their own kits, which is good IMO. I wish they'd just put in a ball, stadium, adboards and pitch editor and encrypt the whole shit. You want to customise, go ahead, do it yourself (no sharing though).

In M'sia we are a spoiled lot aren't we?. We don't even appreciate what those guys are doing, cause almost 'all' ppl here buy and are playing a pirated copy. Those guys are spending hours and days, patching cause they spent a loads of money on an incomplete game, without realising they probably going to get it ripped off in Asia.

Just play the game, and enjoy it as it is. afterall, we're in Malaysia ppl. JUst keep checking ur neighbouhood 'bootleg' game shop. I think PES5 will arrive before a patched version though.

mmm..why i can't copy my WE8: LE xxx ( reefur patch ).?..i can load the option file..but at the boxes ( we8 LE & WE9 ) blank..and can't select the boxes, not active..so how.? and one thing there's many option..dunno which one..aiseymenn plz help me..tq..bro!

UR option file probably corrupted. It cannot recognize. Try housekeeping ur mem-card or create a new option file on a diff mem-card. When you patch reefurs, di you patch any other option file.

Cannot help you more than this, as I never encountered such problem.

i just found out, using analog stick is WAY WAY much better, and smoother.. , but in WE9, i'm still playing with 2-3 stars..
5 stars is way impossible, because of my carelessness in passing..

i think WE9 sucks .. when playing with my frend.. we cant drible.. cant pass correct.. tru pass like hay wire... and the game tak de flow.. skit sikt.. foul..


and when u r in possesion u hv to think fast cos if u poses too much then your fren will chelen u and it will foul.

if u play with no so good team then u will definately loose...

i think winning eleven is far far far better than the EA sports FIFA...in terms of every thing....

any 1 tat play fifa2005 got notice or not, the leg of the players look a bit weird.....

haha...keep pratice lor. it's a typical traditon from WE as everytime a new series comes out...u hve to learn new moves n adapt to it. me starting oso cant win more than 1-2 goals, sometimes even can lose even tough is juz lvl 2 stars onli but soon when u used to it u can score alots of goals

yaa...agree..keep on practice...seen my fren can dribble people easily..u should try ronaldinho skill..tap R2 3x times...damn cun...then got some skill where u can bring the ball to the back while dribbeling with style...then...the AI now kindda hard...with 3 star also hard to win now...

coz WE learning curve is quite long, i played since the first of the series, yet i have problems everytime a new one comes out.

but then, i never dislike them, all those improvements just rocks.

WE9 is fun after you get used to the dribble and passing, and free kicks are actually easier to hit target.

Those with enough experience to the football simulation gaming genre will tell you that the Winning Eleven series beats the crap out of EA's FIFA or even Konami's own PES series (for European markets). Therefore, patchers have and will continue to patch the WE series for the footballing community's enjoyment. Wohoo to that.

Love WE9. Period. Winning games at 5-stars but still cannot manage winnning consistently at 6-stars. Need more practice. As pointed out by other posters above, every iteration of WE requires us to adjust and re-learn. The AI rocks this time. Love the man-to-man marking, the shielding for possession of ball. Scoring from crosses is easier now, back to WE8I, unlike WE8LE which I found to be difficult. Wish the throw-in reverts back to receiver-control rather than thrower-control, like in WE8 or WE7 (can't remember). I wish the chip-through pass was higher like in WE8LE, which was my favourite weapon. Have to re-learn with this new chip-through pass.
