I bought a WE9 PS2 DVD from Sungai Wang with Chealsea team on cover...

SInce this is my 1st time buying WE series(Befoer this I play FIFA series),anyone can teach me how to patch to english commentator?Cause mine 1 is japanese and I don understand it..

you know, if the commentators are foreign, it's even better than those English commentators...

when we score a goal, he says, "Oh! It's a goal!"
if you score a goal with the Spanish commentator, "ENGOLAS, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!"
if you score a goal with the Japanese commentator, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!"

now, thats why I love Winning Eleven more than PES

For all those that can't patch, here's a quick way to get 90% English player names.

Get a copy of WE8LE 'patched'. Many on sale now. (i.e Ole, devil Mix)

In WE9 go to options, data manager. Import your WE8LE option file.
Viola you have most of your player names in English.

Menu is not such a big deal as it can figured out by trial and error.

Does any one feel the speed & passing of this new version to FIFA-ish?

Still sceptical bout '9 so far. Although i've not put in the required hours yet. (WE series usually grows on you).

Early impressions after getting it on Friday.

Great 'new' animations and touches.
Passes seem to fast (don't know if this is a good thing)
Shooting - Shot meter fills v.quickly. Hve to re-learn the soft touch as per WE6 again.
Easier from long range, more misses from closer.
Players off the ball movement generally better, but also sometimes move too much to correct if you delay your pass.

Physical game is better, more fouls but you have to re-learn how to pressure & tackle.
Jostling for position is better now, especially when some forwards can hold of defenders while their back is to goal.
Player weight and physical contact is good.

Heading is much easier (i don't like this, as I fels WE8:LE was perfect).
Should have kept the heading and implemented the better movement.
Some shots feel too scripted. Sometimes you pull of volleys from corners when you don't even plan too.

Free kicks are better, more power and chances of going in. However the controls have been changed and I don't think this is better than prev layout. Now have to use L1 or R1 to curve the ball.

Chipped thru ball is more powerful (as in fast), and not so effective a before. Maybe there is a pressure sensitivity but my controller is so worn down, that I think may prevent me from using a soft touch. Right now have to try from your own half, if not the ball will skip thru to the opponents keeper.

Thru ball and 1-2 pass better, more accurate.

i have the patched version of winning eleven 9
all english! with the help of my dvd burner, and downloaded Fernando's English Patch, I have an english version of Winning Eleven 9!

but most of the spellings are wrong though..

I'm sure you have played many iterations of WE/PES before.

The menu items are still in the same position. After a while you should be able to deduce 'what is where'. Only things different would be certain new features, which you can find out by trial and error.

Maybe there is even English commentary a-la WE8LE in there, but personally I hate it, I prefer the Spanish or Japanese commentator (More lively).

Right now I'm concentrating on squeezing in a lot of gameplay time, to evaluate the game. If not to my liking then I'l just go back to WE8LE (fully patched), and wait it out for PES5.

Do you have patched WE8:LE, if yes you can import your palyer names from WE8LE toWE9.

(about 90-95% of the names can be ocnverted over)

I'm playing mine patched with fernando v3.0 + kosos option file v0.5. I believe it is the best combination at the moment. English menu, team names & player names, transfers to 8 Aug, national team kits, club kits, club logos, max wen, etc.

Not perfect. Still have some minor errors. But best there is at this moment. Wait a few more days/weeks and things should improve further.

but do u guys able to adapt to the game setting? as in score goals and passing..i played WE8 be4...but not used to it..play too much fifa...

fernando v4.0 not compatible with kosos option file, including kosos v0.7. If u use fernando v4.0, need to have a clean option file (ie default save).

But I personally won't sacrifice this combo for a plain option file since having decent kits, transfers updated, max wen etc in kosos option file makes up for small upgrade improvements from fernando v3 to v4.

Patching scene for WE9 change very fast at the moment, with many new patches and option files released every 2-3 days. However, there is still no one complete great patch yet since the new kits encryption not solved, and no new editors tool for WE9 released yet.

For me personally, I think the fernando v3.0 translation patch + kosos v0.7 option file combination is the best at this moment.
