I install Debian 6.0 Squeeze on one of my older computer on a Pentium 4, 2.0GHz, 512MB RAM, built in graphic card and 20GB hard disk. Everything went well but some how the IceWeasel and Epiphany browser doesn't recognize Chinese character. It just show some small square box. Although I don't really know how to read Chinese but its a bit annoying. Can someone help me please? Thanks!

I think you need to run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales" and set your font to UTF-8. Correct me if i'm wrong.

No doesn't work. Even the Live CD also the same. I think it is the Distro itself. Maybe I wait a while to download and try. Now revert back to Lenny.

No, you have to install the Chinese font. Try this:

Just some warning if any of you here uses Linux kernel 2.6.38 and is an ATI user... you need to patch your installer and this is one of the methods available.

... It was quite a hassle >_<

i don't have my lappy to actually test this but i think it is posibble. u can copy and overwrite the icons u want from the 2nd set into the 1st set. just make sure u have the backup for the 1st set incase u screw up tongue.gif

Ubuntu Natty Beta :

Some comments from me laugh.gif

I still think that normal gnome 3 performs better than Unity's workspace

Although , Ubuntu Unity interface is much more lightweight as compared to my Classic Desktop loaded with Docky hmm.gif

Luv the Intellhide but made it quite hefty to switch apps as u nid to hover to top left to call the "Dock" to come out

Gimp 2.7.... kata mau ada Openraster support but when I tried to open... fail! D:

So today I went, took Gimp 2.6.11 source and compiled it... suddenly compiling with an i7 (note: make -j<number of cores/threads> brows.gif ) feels so good mang brows.gif

.... just to have a GIMP that still has Openraster support...
