Dell XPS 13 2018 - An early glimpse of the next Dell XPS 13 teased way ahead of CES 2018

Gone are the full-size USB 3.0 ports in exchange for three USB-C ports. Sadly, this has also meant the SD card reader has been switched out for a Micro SD card slot.

Dell also introduced the updated Dell XPS 13 with a new Alpine White and Rose Gold color. The palm rest is made of a new woven glass fiber material that feels similar to carbon fiber material involves weaving a crystalline medium and a clear resin that give it a soft but firm structure.

Dell explained it had to develop the new material because it couldn’t produce an authentically white carbon fiber and it was unsatisfied with just giving it a coat of white paint.

Otherwise, Dell is keeping its lips sealed on more details about the new Dell XPS 13, but you can expect to hear much more about it at CES 2018.

i bought one, with the i7 but only FHD version.

My review :-

-The sound speaker are ok.. but not the best

-Battery was superb, with 60 whr, 50% brightness, I got 9-10 hrs battery life easily, maybe

-the performance are superb for kabylake i7

-i upgraded to 1tb intel 600p ssd, so its massive for storage

-8gb ram is more than enough to handle autocad, office works

-the heat review is true, but nothing to worry about

-extremely light on a 13 inch size

i switched from xps 15 to this one...for productivity, its a top notch, forget Macbook pro or any other ultra book

GET THIS ONE INSTEAD !!!!!
*
I've gotten myself a xps15 instead already sweat.gif
Now regretting, very bulky... at first hands on very light... what's your call to compare both of this? laugh.gif
thankyou

Hi, How's your XPS after 2 months? are you satisfy with the performance? I'll be getting it as company laptop by tomorrow so, just wonder do I need to perform the steps given by you to stabilize the heat issue?

What about the Killer WiFi? Any issue?

If you not into heavy GPU load stuff, just ignore the repaste, I had no wifi issue as my gaming is not really require high latency.

You mean low latency yah? biggrin.gif

I won't be playing much graphic intensive games. Probably would load 1 or 2 i.e. Dota2 or CS:GO.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, any Xps 15 9560 owners with i7/Fhd model? Does it come with the 56 or 97 whr battery?
Got some mixed info about this, dell website and a few sellers told me it 56whr. However most retailers and even the official dell store in Midvalley claims that it come with the bigger battery.

So are there 2 diff models or is one side wrong?
And is there any way to check what size battery before purchasing? Like is it stated on the box for example?

Thanks smile.gif and btw model number should be xps15-77824g-w10-fhd if it helps

my bad, yes low latency...

You always can give the game a try and monitor the GCU/CPU/Ambient temp by HWinfo before decide to repaste...

Anyhow Undervolt shall give it a try no matter how...

Why need screen protector? even with touch screen so far the review it quite scratch resistant.

Skin can opt for dbrand, >20USD will free delivery

Yeah, I know it's scratch resistant but my reason is to make it more readable when outdoors and easier to manage dust and lint. Plus, I don't use the touchscreen (had to get this version as this is the only one with i7 8th Gen when I bought it).

I am planning to get Dbrands, just checking if anyone had any locally done skin. Much easier to get it done now than waiting for the skin to arrive from Dbrands.

Thank you for your suggestions bro! biggrin.gif

Somemore if you have sweaty palm, screen protector will affect your screen response too...
