Thanks guys smile.gif It hurts me when the seller said that no one would bought her due to her condition. So, why not eih?

My mom disliked the idea having a pet rabbit but she grew fond of lucy seeing I trained her not to pee everywhere. I'm gonna post Tamma's pictures next. My cousin's rabbit. She's the one who teaches me a lot about taking care of lucy here. He's obese :/ but very active.

he/she probably molting, just need to brush her fur more often to help her moult and prevent ingestion of fur which might cause indigestion and hair ball formation..feed lots of hay!!!

Good on you for being so king and picked the imperfect on among the perfect. You have a big heart for doing that. Looking at the photo, little Lucy here seemed to have a condition called the Splayed Legs. Mostly inherited from its parents. She will be able to live a normal life though. Just ensure she has proper grip in her living quarters.

Just estimating, she's probably around 7 to 10 weeks old judging from the photo.

Dear bunny owners..I have a sad story to share.. I have a pair of lion heads bunnies, Chewy and Dewy...Long story cut short, I was told that Chewy was not pregnant when i brought her for grooming few weeks back..But this morning, we woke up discovering 2 out of the 3 baby bunnies were drowned in the drain next to their cage...They managed to scoot their way out of the cage and dropped into the drain...That drain is normally dry...But there was a heavy rain yesterday and the drain was flooded with water.

We have a sole survivor..A little bunny and we are so worried about her.. Seems like Chewy is not milking her. I know they only milk their babies once a day..but i am very concern. I have weigh the baby today and will check again tomorrow...

Has anyone heard of force milking? Making sure the Mammy bunny milk the baby? Does it work? How to do it? I also read that we can use goat milk to substitute. Does it really work? Else, what pet milk powder brand are best?

The vet i always visit does not neuter bunnies. Can someone recommend a vet to me and let me know around how much? Dewy is temporary separated from Chewy. I hope the baby will do fine and Chewy will milk the baby..

Sorry to hear that.

Yes you can feed it by milk goat can buy at pharmacy. Use the smallest baby bottle.

For small pet is not more than rm100. You can try ask from the govt clinic some of them having the service also.

Mayb the groomer don know much bout rabbit.. This is careless sad.gif

A fellow forumer gave me advice on how to lead Chewy to feed Baby. I tried it today and I found out that Chewy does not have much milk. Maybe just a little drop. I am trying to feed Chewy more so that she can produce more milk. But I am glad at least Baby is getting some from Chewy. I will try it again later today. Chewy has been a good girl and let me turn her upside down on my lap to feed Baby.

I use a shoe box and cut the front part off, i put a cloth inside and another on top to give some shade (make it darker) for Baby. I doubt Chewy will jump in and I hope she doesnt..

(^(@)^): Do you have any recommended vet in PJ or KL?

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will keep everyone posted on Chewy and Baby's progress..

Snowball is actually a FEMALE. I took it to the pet shop to have its nails cut and the woman said its a female.
Today I was carrying it and felt some "lumps". They look like pimples. I'm guessing those are nipples?

Her/his behavior has also changed. Biting anything/everything the teeth can get.
Is there a way i can prevent this? I tried vinegar but no use.

I've change the position of the cage so that it can go in and out of the house a bit more freely.

Bonus (no rabbit was harmed when photo was taken)
LoL! laugh.gif

SangTerap, due to an earlier incident my buck's right "hand" is dislocated and according to the vet he needs to undergo surgery which would cost RM800-1,000..and also warned that the anaesthetic used for the surgery has a very high chance of killing the rabbit.

What do I do now? Do I leave his hand as it is? unsure.gif
He can't groom himself properly, only uses his left hand now altho he tries very hard to lift his right hand too.. cry.gif

Hello guys smile.gif A Sabahan here. It's nice to read the post(s) here. It gave me some tips how to raise my baby, Lucy. My boyfriend bought her for me. I planned to buy a rabbit from the local pet store. But, when my boyfriend and I were walking at the local Pasar Tamu, I saw some rabbits for sale. Of course, excitedly I dragged my boyfriend to see those rabbits. It shocked me how they treated the bunnies sad.gif( The seller I mean. To showed that the rabbits were healthy, they pulled the ears and patted them roughly!

I was swearing in my mind seeing their treatment :'( and there was this one rabbit, they gave the lowest price (rm20) because the hands were CACAT.. No one would bought her with that condition. It was also the smallest and they let it cramped with the other big bunnies in a small cage! Without hesitation, I chose her and my boyfriend payed for it :3 I didn't ask him though, he just gave the bills.

So, here is lucy smile.gif The seller said it was half angora.. My lil brother called her Timur since she has this furry and curly fur =__= Her colour is not that nice compared to the other bunnies but I love her just the way she is biggrin.gif She's potty trained and I let her roam freely in my house. But she loves staying in the bathroom at my outdoor kitchen =__=;; i really don't know why but i just let her stay there and kept the door half opened. That bathroom jarang kena guna anyway. She will pee in her cage and go outside at 4.30 pm like that. Hahaha. Then come back before 6.30 in my outdoor kitchen. Very pnakut also. Always at the backyard and not even dared to go to the front.

ps, how to tell the age of the rabbit? I forgot to ask the seller.

Hi all, I'm from Sandakan, Sabah. Would like to get some help from you guys. I had 2 pairs of rabbits.
The 1st pair now is about 4 to nearly 5 months. (I call them Monsters) - Swordy & ChungChung
The 2nd pair is about 1 month plus. (I call them Monkeys) - Spidy & Rocky

I bought the monkeys home so that they can play around with the monsters.

But the problem is when I bring the monkeys home, it seems like the doe monster quite angry or perhaps jealous.. (i'm not sure about it). When the monkeys landed on the floor, they are so excited to hop towards the monsters place (they are caged up). The the monster doe started to become angry and attempt to bite the young one. At first I don't really believe of what I saw. The I try the second time, where I hold one of the young one with both my hand and go near to the monster doe. Then the doe attack again, this time my finger got bitten *thank god the young one safe*. Assuming both monster hate the monkeys so I seperated them.

One day, I happen to found out that the monster buck seems like communicating with the monkeys. Then I let the monster buck out. Surprisingly, they get along very well. What should I do so that the monster doe wont be that aggresive to the young ones? I would love to see them hopping around and play together sad.gif

Oh.. would like to share the pictures of my babies smile.gif

welcome...im still "new" at this too.
im not sure how others did theirs. i'm using a cage so i did the following:
1. observe where they pee. put the toilet there.
2. use cloth/tissue and wipe the pee (yes, its disgusting) and put in the toilet. put some poo too. i hang hay above to get it to sit there.
3. when the bedding is soiled (i use bedding) CHANGE.
i change mine every 2-3 days cos mine will pee BESIDE the toilet (into hay bowl!!! doh.gif ) when it gets too dirty.
they will still poo outside the toilet but will mostly poo & pee in the toilet.

im not sure about expending their play + toilet area. mine is just the hall area and the cage is at the door.
it has free access to cage and hall so it will always go back to the cage (it knows the way back). thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

Thx for the tips Ally. My rabbits are caged too (I let them run around the garden twice a day) and I have also put a litter tray with beddings (wood shavings), they pee & poo inside the tray and outside as well. However they like to throw out all the wood shavings. They also like to sleep in the tray. I wash the tray daily and put in fresh shavings, frustrated to see them end up in the tray below the cage (used to collect their litter). Maybe I should put those plastic mat on top of the shavings in the litter box to avoid the rabbits throwing them out.

no problem. maybe you can make one like this. DIY litter tray
its best if theres a mat on top then the feet wont get soiled and wont kick the bedding out.
pine and cedar wood shavings are not good. not sure about other types.
i use paper based cos last longer only haf to pick-out poo daily (or not tray full of poo). mine eat a lot = poop a lot rclxub.gif .

hi, what a lovely and adorable bunnies u have thumbup.gif . Different bunnies have different temperaments and characters. Generally, senior bunny which is bigger in size will bully those smaller size junior bunnies. Also, rabbit is a territorial creature and it does not like others to step into its area. Please be aware that rabbits tend to fight when they grow mature in order to show their dominant over the others. Rabbit fight can be very violent and i have came across one bunny with a big bleeding hole near its belly due to fighting. As such, i would suggest u to get yr bunnies spayed when they are mature. Bunnies which are already spayed will tend to be less aggresive, healthy and able to live harmony with other buns. smile.gif
