hi, u can try to comb your bunny when they are molting. try to comb out as much fur as you can. this will help your bunny to drop lesser fur. if your bunny is molting. do not let them roam around, temporarily confine them in the cage so that their fur will not fly around in your house. wait until they stop molting then you can let them out again to roam freely. i suggest u to buy a vacuum which i found it very useful in sucking all the bunny fur. it will make your house clean and less fur. hope you can learn to bear rabbit molting season, it is part and partial of our life being a bunny owner. smile.gif

So sorry for the late reply (kicking myself). I have once had a little rabbit broke its leg because got stuck inside the hay rack. The leg was turning 360 degrees, total dislocation. My vet helped me "set" the leg with a type of "cast" material made of metal wrapped in foam. I can't remember the name. 90% recovery. After a few weeks, my bunny can hop like usual. Can be done if u "set" it early.

Good luck!

LoL!  laugh.gif

SangTerap, due to an earlier incident my buck's right "hand" is dislocated and according to the vet he needs to undergo surgery which would cost RM800-1,000..and also warned that the anaesthetic used for the surgery has a very high chance of killing the rabbit.

What do I do now? Do I leave his hand as it is? unsure.gif
He can't groom himself properly, only uses his left hand now altho he tries very hard to lift his right hand too.. cry.gif

Hi all..
My male rabbit likes to suddenly jump around like kena kejutan electric. Is it normal or 'he' has some problems (i.e itchy)? I'm so worried as this is my first time having pet.

Fyi, 'he' is 3mths old, live in the cage with a female rabbit same age. Tq..

hi, what a lovely and adorable bunnies u have  thumbup.gif . Different bunnies have different temperaments and characters. Generally, senior bunny which is bigger in size will bully those smaller size junior bunnies. Also, rabbit is a territorial creature and it does not like others to step into its area. Please be aware that rabbits tend to fight when they grow mature in order to show their dominant over the others. Rabbit fight can be very violent and i have came across one bunny with a big bleeding hole near its belly due to fighting. As such, i would suggest u to get yr bunnies spayed when they are mature. Bunnies which are already spayed will tend to be less aggresive, healthy and able to live harmony with other buns.  smile.gif

Thanks meiling... that day the sr. doe started to bite again.. but was blocked by the playpen... my heart almost drop when i see the the doe junior seems like injured... but thank god.. she's fine.. mature means 4-5 months izzit?

one more thing... will the doe get frustrated with the desperate buck keep on humping on her? when i let them out for play.. the buck seems like chasing her n humphump, and she keep on running and running away from the buck... but when the buck stop chasing her.. she went back to the buck and seduce him... sweat.gif they are quite a lovely couple.. as they stayed together in the same cage when they are still no more than 1 month old... one thing bout them is that the buck nv disturb her when they are in the cage... the humphump activity is on when they are out of their cage...

yes they will... since rabbits already 3-4 months old (hormone kicks in somewhere around 4-6 months old)... ur "in the future" is very near actually... the good thing about spaying ur female, she wont reproduce... the bad thing for not neutering ur male rabbits... they will fight, especially when hormone kicks in, they'll not only fight for dominance, but for the female... unless u are prepared to seperate them in different cage...
*
So meaning if I neuter the males, they won't fight and able to live together with the female without reproducing? The fighting for dominance part.. they will still fight regardless whether they r neuter or not right? Coz I read from a few sites and it says they will still fight eventhough they r neutered. sad.gif

Heavy moylting season normally will last for about 2 to 3 weeks n 3 to 4 times on a year. Ya, some rabbits will get stress up on the vacuum noise. Try top put yr far away while u vacuum their fur.

oooh..where is sangterap when you need him ><"

My 3month+ anggora passed away 2 nights back. The last I saw, it alive was right before I went out for dinner - I made sure the bowl was filled with hay and water bottle still had more than 50% of water in it before I left for my dinner. I got back 2 hours later and she has already passed away. cry.gif

First thing I noticed was the way how her head was twisted all the way to the back. shocking.gif
I looked like someone had twisted her whole head and threw the body into the back of the cage. While I stood there looking at its body, the buck was tapping it with his paws - was it trying to check it the dead rabbit was alive? unsure.gif
Moments later he just lied down next to her.. I waited about an hour or so before removing the dead rabbit. Wrapped it in newspaper and placed it in a shoe-box..then the garbage bin..

What I really really want to know is.. what on Earth could have caused her to die in such a manner?! rclxub.gif Did the buck accidentally kill her ? If so, why? ><" Or could someone had done it and ran away from the scene? mad.gif
