Now now... what's with that generalization? It's misleading and there's no clear basis to what you said. "A man's meat may be another man's poison" smile.gif
I've been hearing this for quite some time now. Kindly name them out smile.gif

Want meh? Later this thread go off topic all come troll >">

Built in AF motor. Image stabilization. higher iso. 7fps. Dual mem slot. AF focus during video. Etc etc etc....

Tech specs wise, A33 is better. Usage wise, that's depending on the user. I was merely pointing at the fact that Sony do not suck, its just under-par compared to the GREAT Nikon and Canon. Nobody ask anyone to use Sony, its a freedom of will. The comment suck was clearly uncalled for.

that is the downfall icon_rolleyes.gif
IS should be placed on the lens instead of body. my very personal opinion.
That's the reason canon and Nikon didn't have IS on body even on their newest model D7000. but let's see later on 5D Mark III and D800.
maybe they will have this thing. hahaha

I wonder if the day would really come if Nikon or Canon will have IS in their bodies. The main selling point is lens with IS built in, which in return costing more.

IS in body and IS in lens, how often do you really peek and test it out? As long as the image comes out sharp, I don't think people would bother much. But there are those who are very particular indeed about the type of IS.

And do share why should IS be placed on lens instead of body? smile.gif

Coz I really new to DSLR.

my friend told me there is pirated lens in the market rclxub.gif . is it true? I`m not so sure and just wondering is it in term of different manufacturer, different warranty period or distributor ?

I myself not sure about this. let me post something on the forum and see the feedback after that I will get back to you. that's just my very personal opinion bro.
I said that with a weak or almost no justification. <- just because most of DSLR camera put Is on the lens.

I myself not sure if there is any.
All I know is only the existence of grey set and 3rd party lens.

Hello. What I'm looking for:

Type: compact point & shoot
Features:
High zoom (10x or more)
High megapixel (14M if possible)
Budget: around RM 800-850 max, if less better
Fast startup & shutter lag (without using flash)

What I'll be using it for:
Travel (sometimes at night)
Landscape photography (so I want wide angle lens)
Far away objects (so I need the high zoom)
Moving objects (while I stand still) & also still objects while I'm moving (eg in a bus)

I have searched local online sellers for cameras with the above specs and within my budget, and I have come up with the following choices:

My main preference now:
Sony H55
Casio H15

Less prefered:
Panasonic ZR3 & ZR1
Olympus mju 9010

Also, I found a Casio H10 for under RM500. I tested this camera a few months ago in a shop (when it cost RM700+) and liked it, almost bought it right then. Is it worth buying now that it is an old/discontinued model and H15 cost a lot more for the extra 2 megapixels?

If I raise my budget a little (to around RM1000), I can get the following, but I really don't want to, unless you guys could convince me that it's really much much better than the above:

Panasonic TZ10
Casio FH100
Sony HX5v

I need the camera by the end of this week, so that's why I'm posting here asking for you experts' prompt opinion.

Thanks.

there's alot of camera brands out there and i must say all of them arent much different. the take pics, nice pics. and around that much money u can get a pretty decent DSLR with plenty of features.

if ur looking into sony system, i think the sony a580 is pretty decent and well featured. if ur into nikon, maybe go for the D90 since the D7000 is still rm4500 including the lens. or if ur into canon, look for the 60D+18-135 kit. and im sorry but im not so good on other brands.

buy the camera+the kitlens or some upgraded lens (eg 18-135 / 18-105), then throw in a 50mm 1.8 together as well. its a nice combination to have. hope this helps thumbup.gif

I'm a newbie in camera stuffs. I'm thinking of getting 1 new camera. DSLR are great in capturing photos, even when you zoom in it's clearer compare to digital cameras. But I think it's too big for me to carry around for holidays sweat.gif Any LX5 users who read this thread are welcomed to post their experience in using LX5.. Looking ahead to get LX5 brows.gif Just need some advise from seniors and experienced users about cameras smile.gif Is LX5 is a wise choice afterall?

if it is possible get 60D with 18-55 + 50mm 1.8 II it's a way better and more useful compared to 550D + 18-200 IMHO.
except you are preparing for travel.

not interested with 60d as the spec is not much diff from 550d isn't it?
one more question: heard from some photographer, the pic quality of 18-55mm lens is better compare to 18-135 or 18-200 in terms of sharpness and others...
so, his opinion is buy camera body and lens seperately.. what you think?

If that is the case go for 7D it is a significant upgrade from 550D.
what I am saying is get a better body if it is possible. therefore you can invest on lens slowly. compared to get entry level body and later on you do upgrade your body again.

because a good body can serve you for a long period of time.
yup 1855 is better in term of sharpness. therefore I suggest you go for 1855 + 50mm 1.8

thinking to get between D90 or D3100 with 18-105 lense. but not sure which one to get. here's my priority to get this family camera

1 lense fit for all (i'm not a pro, just wanna get a lense that can zoom, take nice pics, mostly family outings pics)
RM3xxx or below, which D90 or D3100 fits my bill
Good pics taken during night time
Auto features/guide modes most of the time (simple usage)

Some of the camera shop ppl tells me D90 compare to D3100
1) continuous shots for d90 is better. 4.5 frame per sec, whereby d3100 only 3frame ps.
2) shooting at night time, if both shoots at iso3200, d90 will be better with lesser noise output.
3) D3100 body is small and 18-105mm lense is heavy. Hence might not so balance when you hold the camera.

Are these facts true and make sense to you all? D3100 is RM700 cheaper, but the camera guy say D90 is far more worth need.

Need your inputs.

Indeed D90 is better compared to D3100.
but I dont think D3100 noisy performance is worse to D90.
D90 is better as it has AF motor in the body so you can use any lens you want.
however D3100 you have to use AF-S lens in order to get the focus.

D3100 is easier for newbie in DSLR. so again it's your call.
