Dear all,
I know most of the questions here are related to DSLR but I dont have the budget to get one, so im looking for a good and affordable digital camera with the budget of RM 500.
Please give me some kind advice on whether I should opt for the Samsung PL 101 or the Lumix FH1?
I checked at Lowyat and found both cameras on the same price of RM499 with same freebies (2GB memory card, screen protector, casing).
Wanna ask between the two which one is better for landscape pictures and have the best colour quality?
I heard Lumix's lens is using Leica technology hence it is slightly better for taking pictures. Is this true ah?
Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance =)

Hi guys, I hope this is not a repeated question. Am helping my girlfriend to survey for cameras. I myself is not pro at all, only know the basic point and shot, so I hope everyone here can guide and advice me, thanks in advance.
Type of camera/lens/accesories: Semi-pro Budget: Unsure, should be no problem Your Location: KL Preferable brand: Olympus/ Sony/Nikon?
Type of photography u want to do: Lots of scenery shots (especially outdoors), foods, portraits, landscapes etc. Basically my gf wants a very nice DSLR-like quality pictures for daily activities. She have been complaining the normal digi cam not able to produce good quality pictures (in terms of colour, noise, brightness). U know how normal digi cam always look so good when preview but when put on computer it's totally different.
Specific models in mind: PEN series? I'm not sure which is the latest but I think Olympus came out first, then Sony and Nikon has a new PEN series too? And Canon S95.
Specific features wanted: Sharp DSLR-like quality pictures, able to have really nice colours, good specs for food pictures (make it look "delicious" with the hot vapour and whatnot), and HD video (either 720p or 1080p).
Basically, the key point here is a camera that is not too big (like DSLR size) to bring around. She travels around with a medium size handbag so preferable camera that are easy to carry around with. She wants to have the freedom to play around with the settings (ISO speed, aperture). Having the option to change lens is okay with her. Most important is to have sharp quality pictures, especially for outdoor landscapes and sceneries.
Hope this is not too much to ask, thanks again in advance!

QUOTE(zstan @ Nov 13 2011, 11:00 PM) have a look at NEX C3. they come in pink as well! Am looking at NEX C3 now, is there any other models you can recommend that is on par? Would like to compare if possible =) Edit: I saw some comments that the Sony NEX C3 does not have built-in flash, and it requires a better lens than the kit lens to take more stable pictures as the focus isn't that great. Any users can explain whether these comments are true? What if I were to compare NEX C3 with S95, which camera would be better in terms of producing a DSLR-quality pictures? I've seen some pictures from my friends with the S95 and the quality picture weren't that great (not sure if they used the wrong settings). Help is much appreciated. Thanks! QUOTE(chiahau @ Nov 15 2011, 08:59 PM) Focus ain't great? Compared to compact camera, the sensor size of Nex also, is sheer win for me already. Image quality and low light performance, I think the Nex will be on top Nex uses DSLR sized sensor btw.. Thanks for your response! Sorry if I offended u, just writing out what I read from other users review. I used this link to compare the cameras and it stated that NEX-C3 does not have image stabilization. Is this because of the kit lens? Because, i mean we tend to shake our hands sometimes when taking pictures and end up with a blur picture lol.
