That's the 2 main cons, other than that the mouse is fine. If you're a hardcore gamer planning to play on wireless all day long then I'm sorry, the battery will go flat within 2 hours or so smile.gif
If you don't compare then obviously you think your Mamba works fine smile.gif Now I've owned plenty of mouse and I hope I don't have to list all of them down and comparing Sidewinder X8 and Mamba, the battery life and software for Mamba sucks totally. If you think your Mamba's drivers/application is running without lag, wait till you try the Sidewinder X8's application. My friend and I have since sold this Mamba off and mind you, we bought it RM440 when it was launched about a month.

I agree boss smile.gif That's why I find it weird how come someone can say the Mamba software is NOT LAGGY. Maybe he has not used any other gaming mouse before ever in his life and Mamba is his first. I've had quite a number of Razer products and no doubt they have good design but quality is very very filmsy and bad. My advice is, DON'T buy the Mamba.

how could an expensive mouse that costs 400+ comes with so many problems..
sigh.. my imperator still kickin after half a year of hardcore gaming!

I don't assume things smile.gif I input based on my real life experience and if I don't own it, I don't comment unlike most people that likes to mislead others when they don't even own that product. You must also understand every product is different even it's from the same company. The only reason people say Razer has good quality is because they never used other brands. If you compare build quality against Steelseries of the same range, you will get what I mean smile.gif

I own a mamba too. As u said before mamba battery only 2 hours for hardcore gaming, I think ur battery lifespan is getting low. I can use more than 6 hours.

Again, I give my own opinion. It works fine for me. Does that mean that it will suit your needs? No right? I find the buggy and laggy firmware stg acceptable as it does not really affect me doing whatever I'm doing. I still can set my macros n etc and use em.

FYI, I do own a huge list of gaming mouse ranging from the Mx510 to SS to Roccat n etc. Does not mean I say the thing is good, its damn good. It all boils down to your own damn opinion. Say what you want, but the fact that I sidelined already the Mamba is a clear reason there's issues with it. Its just that we both have different issues with the mouse.

I rest my case then. Let the discussion roll on. laugh.gif

im a pure fps player, so i need to adjust dpi according to situation.
for example, i use 2500dpi when im in sniper mode n 3000-3500dpi when i in rush mode.
the diff is much when u turn 360 n every angle(left top, bottom right n etc)

It's alright to say your own opinion but it is WRONG when you label other people's opinion as baseless like what you've mentioned earlier. If you expect yourself to give opinions then please respect other's too smile.gif The other problem is fan-boyism. It's very common among typical Malaysians especially lowyat.net members whereby if they own something expensive, they praise the product like some God made product.

I'm not saying the mouse breaks down but it's the build quality of it. Of course it's usable but if it's filmsy and fragile (if you get what I mean). The battery life of Mamba is indeed disappointing if you compare against other wireless gaming mouse.

It is indeed overpriced smile.gif I agree with you on that but myself being a gadget freak, I just buying whatever to try things out. After that I can well conclude that Mamba isn't worth the money at all. My friend owns the Mamba and we bought together. If you ask him how's the Mamba, he will say throw it into the bin. I have another rich water cooling customer which owns the Mamba, he too insists that the mouse is crap. Sometimes when you boot up your PC, it doesn't detect the Mamba (when it's wireless). However if you ask a fanboy, he of course will praise the Mamba as some Godlike mouse.

I can conclude that Mamba isn't worth the money (RM400+). These are the few common problems by the Mamba but there are also good things like it can provide high dpi and it's precision is excellent. Razer makes good mouse except certain models are just crap, some are plain filmsy and fragile. I never had experiences with the Orochi but as for the weight, it is really subjective. The general idea of getting a good mouse is that as long as your hands fit in well and comfortable, that mouse is well suited for yourself. No point to buy an expensive mouse where it doesn't fit your hands well - you won't be able to enjoy good gaming due to that as well.

Yes, indeed the performance, accuracy, precision and its wireless polling rate for the Mamba is best. Nothing out there today compares to it.

And then the bad part are those as mentioned earlier....could not understand why they wanna design the mouse to use a 800mAh battery pack instead of just a rechargeable AA battery which you can get for like 2000 to 2700 mAh which will last a lot more.

With all that said, some of us could not justify the price tag given the above pro n cons.

Would have been an awesome mouse if its priced circa RM280....but this thing is RM430 (when I bought)....so, normally one would have higher expectation afterall its a premium mouse.

cos if two AA batts already its about 50% of the mouse weight which obviously makes it pretty heavy.

anyway its a IT world and ur paying for technology...and sometimes just paying for pure marketing.
just like everyone buying iphones, but i for sure think they're crap...

Too bad it requires over 3 volts..maybe due to the performance of the mouse. Most logitech uses 1 AA battery which is 1.5v and it runs for like 3 months in a single charge... hmm.gif

R U willing to part over RM400 for a mouse?
Do U need the performance, dpi, precision?
Can U live with the underlying issues?
Do U really need it wireless?

Yea, performance requirements....i guess its really a trade off..... cool.gif

Battery issue can be forgiven, but software laggines, squeaky / creaky sound at scroll wheel.....garrhhhh....for over RM400, is kinda hard to forgive...my RM20 mouse's scroll wheel has no issues...
