Guys, my razer mamba scroll wheel makes the squeaky sound very annoying...any idea if I can claim warranty for it?

Thanks for replying bros...I m gonna bring the mouse n try to claim....do I bring the whole set or just the mouse unit? Do they also give u the replacement mouse with new batteries as well?

I have this problem with my Lycosa Mirror. I am using Windows XP. Sometimes when I type n type, suddenly certain key is not responding anymore. Like, suddenly '6' canot press....or suddenly 'k' cannot press.......then I have to unplug the keyboard USB cable n replug it in then its ok back to normal.....it happens on random keys and happens at random times.....

What would be the problem? Anyone face this? Any tips to solve it?

Also below the keyboard, there is this two feet which supposed to lift the keyboard at an angle....the both feet broken after keyboard dropped.....u think this item can claim warranty?

Any Lycosa user here? Surprisingly I asked any user facing issues with their Lycosa and none answered.

Guess I am the only one having bad luck....both my Lycosa & Mamba got into RMA claim. Now using ciplak kbd n mouse

Still no news on my Mamba but on the Lycosa, the supplier gave me a few options for my RMA :

1. Replace me with a new Lycosa
2. Refund me $$$

I plan to obtain the refund (no. 2) since from googling around, I find Lycosa has some known issues with design and problem is gonna come back even though they replace the entire kbd with a new one.

Once I got the refund, I am wondering if I should get the BW Ultimate...any user here can post further detailed review? And especially any problems faced? Like keys not responding, stuck keys etc?

I am not a serious gamer, so I am considering the BW Ultimate vs Logitech K800....anyone can comment on these 2 kbds??

Indeed, they are very supportive supplier, ask me to give them another chance by trying their Razer product, so that's why. And I've been their loyal customer for sometime and have spent quite a bit there as well

Since you also sell Logitech product, do u have any indication on when the Logitech K800 would be coming in??

Not to say anything bad about Razer but having been a user of Logitech products (VX Revolution, MX Revolution, MX700, V450) and comparing with my 2 Razer products (Mamba having the scroll creaking issue, and Lycosa having the keys not responding or stuck issue), I find Logitech products are more superior both in sense of quality as well as working ability compared to Razer.

I find Razer items first few months of usage are good but after that, the product would deteriorate (both functionalities and material wear n tear) downwards pretty fast.

Indeed you have a point there bro, wireless kbd is not a requirement, i don't need them...wireless mouse yes!!

But I need illuminated keyboard, many times I type in the dark, or should I say, my room is not bright enuff. So solar kbd may not work for me due to insufficient ambient lighting.

So if you say Logitech, I only have either the K800 or the Illuminated Keyboard. The other Logi gaming kbds I don't like it coz I don't use macro keys, the the macro buttons on the left side makes it hard to press the "TAB" button.

Hrm, my room is not as bright as lit by florescent lamp....just using dimming lights with reflective effect, like having the lamp directed at the ceiling thereby the light gets reflected down......downlight.....passive lighting....soft light kinda thing.....

So I would say, the solar is not effective in this environment...n then again, the k750 is non-backlight kbd.

I might go for G510 from Logitech...

If you fond of Razer products, then Black Widow is the current best thing available now....but its a mechanical kbd, not everybody likes it. Give it a test before deciding...I always recommend actual tryouts when it comes to kayboard and mouse, never just based on recommendations. Ergonomics n fitting comes into play as well in this department.

Well if I go for option 2, means they refund me full purchase price, then if I buy BW, it's the same as you mentioned.

Why do u say that?? Better choice over the Logitech's??

I somehow lost confidence with Razer products after both my razer products went problematic n went for warranty claim...how can top of the line razer products quality can be this bad rite!!

Well, I guess I shall visit the retail shop n give it a try on both BW n those Logitechs

the scroll wheel tends to have creaking sound after a while of use, say a few months.....u may send it in for warranty of it but problem will come back.....my friend is on his 3rd Mamba....n the sound is starting to come back....I have sent mine for warranty for the same problem....still waiting it to come back. Now using my Logi VX Revo.

All I can say for Razer products is that the build quality is crap....

Performance wise, its one of the fastest and most precise wireless mouse out there.....

And indeed, the software for Mamba is also crap, lags like hell....end up, I didnt even install the software anymore....

Yes, indeed the performance, accuracy, precision and its wireless polling rate for the Mamba is best. Nothing out there today compares to it.

And then the bad part are those as mentioned earlier....could not understand why they wanna design the mouse to use a 800mAh battery pack instead of just a rechargeable AA battery which you can get for like 2000 to 2700 mAh which will last a lot more.

With all that said, some of us could not justify the price tag given the above pro n cons.

Would have been an awesome mouse if its priced circa RM280....but this thing is RM430 (when I bought)....so, normally one would have higher expectation afterall its a premium mouse.

Too bad it requires over 3 volts..maybe due to the performance of the mouse. Most logitech uses 1 AA battery which is 1.5v and it runs for like 3 months in a single charge...

R U willing to part over RM400 for a mouse?
Do U need the performance, dpi, precision?
Can U live with the underlying issues?
Do U really need it wireless?

Battery issue can be forgiven, but software laggines, squeaky / creaky sound at scroll wheel.....garrhhhh....for over RM400, is kinda hard to forgive...my RM20 mouse's scroll wheel has no issues...

I was previously on the Sidewinder X8 as well b4 moving on to the Mamba, batt life, yes the X8 does perform better n the magnetic USB charge cable is a very thoughtful method, made it very easy to switch btwn wired n wireless...when the batt is low, move ur mouse near the magnetic cable n viola, u r on cable...its charging as u play now...for Mamba, u gonna have to pause the game (if its MMORPG, it's a bit difficult then).

But then on the X8, the software part is very well done as expected from a software company (Microsoft). The only gripe is the overall design of the X8 is on a rougher note, very edgy, sharp corners, squarish buttons that tends to hurt ur fingers when pressing over time. The main thing that makes me part with it is actually on a personal reason. The physical size of it is too big for my hand. My palm ain't small...yet its still too big for me And I still remember the mouse wobbles, the feets are not level....

On the other hand, the Mamba, all in all, after all the issues laid out, it is still lovable due to the design, the ergonomics really hit me with all the right curves, buttons at the rite positions and the precision and speed is next to nothing. Once you set the mouse rite with the crappy-laggy software, preset all the dpi settings, then switching dpi direct from the mouse button is really on-the-fly, immediate.

It only put me off at the runtime (battery) department as well as the squeaky / creaky scroll wheel. U know it's kinda embarassing when your friends came over to watch u play games awesomely only to pose u a question..."eh what's that sound....oh how come ur RM400 mouse squeaks??"

On the dpi side, yea, I can't get used to control a mouse with its dpi set over 3000....my sweet spot for work use is around 1800 only over a 24" LCD.

So my presets are kinda like 800, 1200, 1800, 2300 2800......mostly only using the three presets in the middle.... I don't play sniping games really.

Even though I got issues with Mamba and Lycosa....still think that Razer is kinda new in the industry and mind u, they have potential. Given chance n time, I believe they would churn out awesome products. Newer stuffs are getting better like the BW...though still some minor faults here and there but they're going on the rite direction.

I am no fanboy here but I think I still have high hopes for them....not gonna buy anything from them for now...but I shall be looking at all their product releases and all....I too am kinda a gadget geek

I am wondering if this battery is a high capacity as mentioned in there...or was it exactly the same as the ori battery that came with the mamba....

If its a Hi-Cap, and if it performs as stated 14 hours of gameplay....I m getting it....

But seems to me its the same rating as the ori batt the comes with our Mamba...

I would believe they're both the same. I can't confirm for u as my mouse is sent for warranty and wont be returning in a month's time.....

Can someone with a mamba confirm their ori battery has a rating of 800mAh? If it is 800mAh, then they're both the same thing.....and razer would have cheated us all to claim it runs for 14 hours gametime....my receiver is just less than 10cm from the mouse and I only use a nominal dpi of around 1800 to 2000....how can it be that I can run my mouse wirelessly for like 3 hours or so only

did u install the keyb driver / app?

I tested the BW Ultimate on the Func+F keys....they work even without the drivers / apps installed. R u sure you're pressing both the keys together and not one after the other??

sounds quite weired your keyboard....you should try it on another computer without the driver / app and see how it works....if its the same, then it sure is faulty.
