Dear goldfries,
It is bleeding dead obvious that I was kidding, taking it on the light side. And my actual answer was just few lines below (even if it's not up to your expectations). Music is not sacred, your post is not a dealing with human tragedies, so why shall my answer be 100% informative and serious ?

hehe. wouldn't that be considered spam? biggrin.gif ok well nmind...... thanks.

QUOTE(Pix @ Dec 1 2005, 04:00 AM)
I said " (...) but someone once said here that the behringer amplifier might look good on paper, but is pure crap. (...)"
My answer about your question shows that I never personally dealt with a behringer amp. So I can't help you on this amp, just repeating what I thought I heard somewhere once. The only thing I could say was that small amps 15W are usually very unimpressive, whichever the brand.

ok thank you.

QUOTE(Pix @ Dec 1 2005, 04:00 AM)
sorry i didn't explain further : those explanations were implicit, since 15W amps are almost all similar. Those amps are physically limited, buying one or another won't change much in terms of sound. Even the extra features may not worth it : it's probable that only one feature will actually sound good to your ears.
But I never tried those 2 amps myself. I'm just giving you guide lines.
Another reason : a beginner's guitar is an investment you can keep for many years : it WILL sound good on a good amp. So your probable next upgrade will be a better amp. Not a better guitar. Do you understand ? The choice of the package you'll buy now should be done solely on the quality of the guitar.

ahh now that explains a lot. thanks. the Ibanez guitar does look and feel nicer.

QUOTE(Pix @ Dec 1 2005, 04:00 AM)
are you telling us you have guitar skills ? so... you do know how to play guitar ? it must be so easy for you to go in those shops and try all the available starters'packages.

erm actually i did try those things out (ok well i let the shop keeper do the test). i did observe both amps and guitar. i like the guitar for the Ibanez and the amp of the Behringer.

i can play, no doubt but my skill and experience in guitar world pales in comparison with you guys - all my SIFU!!!!! only the amp makes it more fun but your explanation above makes me re-evaluate the situation. thank you.

QUOTE(Pix @ Dec 1 2005, 04:00 AM)
And you should try to buy your friend's equipment 2nd hand wink.gif

i already have a classical, i don't wish to have another. biggrin.gif it's either accoustic or electric for the next purchase.

========

anyway, i found something new on the Behringer pack

Behringer Guitar Pack Review
Purchase: I got it at a local music store for 150$.
Likes: It looks like a stratocaster and the amp can make a lot of effects. The price is also really good for beginers.
Dislikes: this guitar always get out of tone after five minutes and it isn't good grounded you can take electric show on it
Quality: The guitar is really good and solid and look like a stratocaster. the pickups and the elctronic is correct for the price
http://www.instrumentpro.com/blog/archives...r-guitar-packs/

point to ponder.

btw i just realize there were user comments on the Ibanez packages too
http://www.music123.com/Ibanez-Jumpstart-J...ge-i67111.music

smile.gif looks like i know what to get now. thanks Pix.

ahh. you didn't use EDIT tongue.gif btw glad you understood. i would really sound mean if i did not edit the earlier post. haha. nmind....... thanks for explaining the part on guitar vs amp. sheds some new light.

now - to plan my $$$$

btw i just found out the Ibanez came with tuner too, one user commented "Korg chromatic tuner is 10 times better." cool.......cos i already have that Korg Chromatic Tuner CA-30. tongue.gif

w000 can't wait to get that package.

just one last thing :
the ibanez gives you a humbucker... if you don't know what it is, let's just say it provides you with a much better ability to reproduce those thicks and saturated guitars you hear in rock and metal (even those pat metheny's thick jazz lines).

ps: are you a mod hunter ? breath in, breath out, relax dude... i'm just trying to do my best here.

please correct me if im wrong but....
i do believethat the amp is the main gear in your rig that will most influence your tone
go try for yourself...
no matter how good the guitar is... through a crappy amp it'll sound like shit
dont limit yourself to beginner packages...
you'll find taht with a few extra hundred you'll get a much better deal

evo.com, i totally agree with you ! But IMO, most entry-level guitars are acceptable whereas entry-level amps are pretty bad (compared to bigger ones).
Since he's on a tight budget (< 800rm), better get an OK guitar, so he can keep it for longer and learn better. If he takes an OK amp, he has to stick with a poor untuneable thin-sounding guitar, from a "no-brand"... That can seriously alter one's willing to learn the instrument.
I agree, getting a Cube 30 with the same Ibanez RGX is a smarter initial investment. But how much does that cost ?

Close to 2.5k - 3k? Roland Cube 30 is around 1k, and RGX definately 1k plus.

it's hard when your life involves musical instruments + computers + games + fish hobby blablablablbal.

if i get the amp soon, i'll get to play with the Ibanez Roadstar (FR setup) that is currently at my place. tongue.gif

DAMN! Very Jeff Beck and looks mint!!! Definitely worth it!

I think the main difference (other than where they are being made, of course) between MIJ and MIA guitars is the electronics. In terms of workmanship imo, MIJ ones are spot on. If this MIJ strat is in mint condition, I would pick it over a new Highway 1 any day!

Btw, you said vintage right? What year was it made in? 80s? Early 90s?

xnobys / ledzepfreak is right, MIJ are real good guitars with a constant quality. You can't go wrong with it. Plus, yours look fabulous !! Electronic is ok, but you might need a pickup upgrade in few years (that's cool ! you don't have to stick with average us fender's pickups, you can go for cheaper and higher end ones !), and possibly the jack cable connection will need some care ... nothing to worry about though, thrust me.

delon85, are you telling us you actually bought a epiphone LP at RM700 ? shouldn't YOU be the one telling us whether it's a good bargain or not ? how's the guitar ? do you like it ?

delon85 .. well, be sure to tell us how is the guitar, and how is the overall transaction (via Ebay, right ?). i think it's a real good price ! i don't really like the sunburst on the picture though... but it doesn't really matter. You're starting with a nice guitar, thrust me.
