I don't think you could find Tokai anywhere here.

Ishibashi thumbup.gif :

Send an email to them, perhaps they could get you the ZW model. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Fernandes's sister company Burny makes good Gibson copies too :

Forget about Gibson, unless it's pre-80s ones, imo. wink.gif

No, really. We thought that it was funny, this guy opens a shop in KK and carries these, 'not usual' brands, like tokai (the talbo cost about 6 k, i remember, all metal), Hughs & kettner, rotosound strings, and wind instruments. We asked him if he was making money, he said no, but his parents want to keep him in KK so they just keep dumping money into the shop. Dumping was the word he used. Next, he wanted to distribute Gretsch guitars, went to germany and all that.

Wow!

nick drake > i think the pre-amp is ONE tube + solid state, and the power amp is solid state... otherwise, it won't be at the price you got it wink.gif
*
Exactly what I thought. The signal goes into a valve preamp before the solid state circuit.

Nonetheless, the clips posted on their website are tempting! Does anyone knows where to find this Vox amp? CKMusic?? I've tried the smaller version (30 watts I think) of Spider II and wasn't really impressed by the sound.

Woah... 1000 for 30watt?? Ishi's selling it for RM800+ inc shipping lol! If only the voltage problem could be solved!

Thanks for you offer, but I've runned out of cash, I'ill see what I can do end of this year tongue.gif . Considering the AD50VT tho since it has an external speaker out & giggy. thumbup.gif

Did ya modify your amp?? I've read reviews citing the AD30VT's speaker has room for improvement.

I've seen this one already hehe... they guy's bloody good! Lovely jazz blues licks! Thx anyway!

evo.com, it depends on the item you order but I doubt it should cost you a bomb. Around RM200 (including insurance) or more maybe? They use EMS to ship their stuff, which is very reliable. thumbup.gif
Plus, their customer service's pretty good as far as I know.

Most of the Jap made stuff are cheaper, the rest's pretty much the same (or more).

Heh... yup. If you have a relative/friend who's going to Japan & don't mind carrying a guitar, just ask the him/her to bring it back for you. Purchase a hard case & put some stickers (the older they look the better!) on it. Save you the shipping cost and 10% tax! thumbup.gif

Normally people will buy a very good high-end guitar first. Some of my friends, they spent like Rm2500++ for an  Ibanez Guitar but didn't buy any amp to play with laugh.gif. There's a quote ... "Get a wife first before getting a new house"

After you get your super cun bass guitar, save money and get a small bass amp. If you have enough money, go ahead and buy those 100W bass amps .... at lest you still can bring u're small bass amp around to pratice.
*
That's pretty much bullsh!t imo, you're gonna lose all the fun of playing and abuse your guitar if you get a high-end one. For a beginner, that's very important imo.

You see nerd... it's called the 'practise' amp, you weren't expecting it to sound like a 100-watt Marshall amp blasting behind you, are you? It's meant to be used for bedroom/midnight practise (Read : Low-volume) & maybe party/small gigs & that's what it does. Most practise amps are the same I think. Like my Peavey Blazer, the clean's great but the OD channel's almost unusable.

If you really want good tones on a small practice amp, I suggest you try out the Vox AD15VT. It comes with 11 amp models (Boutique Clean & OD, Tweed, Blackface, AC15, AC30TB, UK70s, UK80s, UK Modern, US High Gain, NuMetal) CK Music has it, it's probably a little more expensive but worth the bucks imo.

Well, just give it a try anyway & recommend it to other players. thumbup.gif

Have you tried the clean channel on the Kustom? I'm not too sure about their amps, but if their clean channel's good, then it's bloody good.

Sh!t AD60VT... and only SPM trials. I wonder what you'ill get if you get 10As for the real SPM...

...Marshall stack??? OMG!!!! Just remember to invite us to your house for some jamming. tongue.gif wink.gif

lol I beat you theWhacker, any prizes??? tongue.gif

You see I studied everything last minute (Almost all the night before the actual exam) and got satisfying results. If you study much earlier and try your very best, 10A1s should be nothing for you, let alone 10As.

Then, of course... invite us for jamminglar!

The AD50VT's going for RM1200++ best price and the 60VT is much more expensive I think. Haha... I'm waiting for Ang Paus here haha. Let's visit each other to double our money. XD XD XD Not to forget ssslayerrr and ModD. tongue.gif tongue.gif

Behringer has a pretty good starter amp too. The clean tone on that one is extremely warm, the OD channel's pretty usable too. thumbup.gif

I used my 15 watter for medium gigs and it worked fine lol! The AD50VT's good enough for small to medium gigs (After all, you're cranking the damn thing up!). In case you're playing in larger venues, just mic the thing up.

If you're still in doubt, the thing comes with a speaker output. Eg. If you want a true Marshall amp sound, just hook it up to one of those Marshall 4x12 cabs & voila!

Bedroom practises??? Turn to the back of the AD50VT and you'ill see an 'Adjustable Output Wattage' (Not available in the AD15VT tho). It saturates the poweramp's output wattage . In other words, it's a volume control. This means that you could crank the amp up at bedroom level. You don't have to substitute tone for volume now!!! Otherwise get a pair of headphones and plug it into the phones out. Your neighbours will love you. smile.gif

I've done my homework Evo.com tongue.gif I've downloaded all the video clips, audio clips and even the manual from various places. If you guys want, I can upload as a torrent and post it here. thumbup.gif

Oh yeah, the AD50VT has a hidden noise gate too. It's only touched lightly in the manual.

No joke. Remember our school hall? Suan Aik used his Peavey amps for all his gigs too. Sometimes he mic it up, sometimes he doesn't, but it was loud enough. But it won't sound as good as being mic'ed up. Then again you know our school's PA.

LOL I only check out that stuff I'm considering getting. I've tried the Line 6 30watt Spider and it has an impressive clean sound. The Metal setting's pretty good but I have no use for that. I tried the AD30VT but didn't find much love with it, sad.gif determined to try that again! tongue.gif

Haha... my ears are not that goodlar... to my ears the Tweed, Black, Boutique Clean settings sound very very impressive (Blues guitarists will love this). I wasn't very sure about the rest, not much time to play with them that day. Though I've read reviews saying that the HiGain models are very impressive, especially the nu-metal settings which nail the scooped-mid sound perfectly.

nick_drake has the AD30VT, perhaps you should ask him for comments. thumbup.gif

Do you want the clips? It won't take long for me to post. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
