If I'm not mistaken Beck's model is Olympic White in colour, so yours has a little yellow in it, cool! This post has been edited by led_zep_freak: Dec 3 2005, 12:12 PM |

I think it's probably because of the lighting, if you look harder, you could see a bit of yellow in it.

i looked hard... but it doesn't look like vintage white to me : the pickguard wouldn't match a vintage white in that way, you should see a contrast between the two white tones. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe not. Maybe you do see yellow stains. Maybe you should clean your computer's screen thouroughly and start going to the toilets

delon85, yeah it's a misleading ebay bid. It's ont 40W but 10W, you can see it just by looking at the size of the amp. you will not go far with that, but it's cheap...
roland cube30 (bentley's) and vox AD30VT (CK music) could be a good match, but you'll have to throw in RM400 ++. if you're an ebayer, look for those beats, possible good deals... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Roland-Cube-30-Ampli...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vox-AD30VT-Valvetron...1QQcmdZViewItem |

pix/led zep,
the strat is not here and the dude is selling it on behalf of his friend. managed to get it at RM1.6k+strap+new strings but he needed a non-refundable deposit of RM200 before he can get the guitar in. and i can't try it first. what do you guys think? is it some sort of a bogus deal? i went to guitar store y'day and had played with the same jap strat (i guess) but with different colour selling for RM3k. man, the construction is smooth and i see/hear no defects, buzzing, etc at all. the quality of the construction is top notch... |

xnobys, who's this guy ? is he working in a music shop ? if yes, then a deposit is understandable. Otherwise, the usual way is that he hands the guitar to you and you pay him on the spot.
if he doesn't agree with this, then ... tell him you want to talk to the owner of the guitar and do the deal with that guy. if he still says no, then you're in the middle of a weird deal. Be sure the deposit is "documented" (a bill, a contract, with ID...) allowing you to get the RM200 back if the guitar is not in the condition stated verbally. He wants a deposit to "force" you to buy it when it's there. Cuz he doesn't trust you ? Well, make him understand that if he doesn't trust you, then you don't have to trust him either. And mention to him that you tried a MIJ fender strat, so you know what to expect, and that's what you want to buy. Of course, you have to soften the edges of what i'm telling you This post has been edited by Pix: Dec 4 2005, 08:33 AM |

I saw the rest of the pics in Jamtank, you're right Pix, the 'yellow' could hardly be seen lol. Might be Olympic White after all?
Try to get a COD deal from him since the seller's his friend, the friend should trust his judgement, right? Btw, what's the difference of these 2? Power Input-40 watts max Power Output-12 watts max This post has been edited by led_zep_freak: Dec 4 2005, 10:48 AM |

led zep, power input would be the electrical consumption, i suppose, but it's totally misleading. Clearly written by someone woh knows nothing about amps OR try to over-describe the amp in order to blow away beginners
delon85 > errr. my friend, read the whole thread, you'll have your answers. i'm just telling you the global and current trend about cheap amps. If you want details, you'll have to read all the previous pages. |

Might be Olympic White after all? usually u see the power output of the amp to know its performance. Try to get a COD deal from him since the seller's his friend, the friend should trust his judgement, right? Btw, what's the difference of these 2? Power Input-40 watts max Power Output-12 watts max amps like those Pix recommended are really good for performing to a small group because its 30W... more power. sounds are energy. therefore the more power u have the more energy u can transmit. 10W-15W are usually practise amps and for beginners |

well, it's not really about the power, because between 15W and 30W, it's not that much difference in terms of "decibels", but it's more about the speaker's size, as you noticed earlier. It's a huge quality gap between a 6" or a 8", and a 10".
