anyway.....a good amp is important than a good guitar....no matter how good r ur guitar.....when it match with a bad amp.....it sounds bad too.....i think roland cube 30 and vox ad30vt is the best choice within the budget of RM1000

i just bought myself squier tele custom II, roland cube 15, boss superchorus and a gig bag for not more than RM1500. hermm... but the amp is not very satisfying. if can get 20-30W then it would be much better.

Actually I would pick the Cube30 over 15 any day. The 15 sounds a little muffled, as if someone had put a blanket to cover the amp. The 30 is much more open and less muddy. Nonetheless the Cube 15 is a great practice amp for the money! Hope you enjoyed your new gear so far! Have fun and hope to hear some stuff from you soon! |

QUOTE(evo.com @ Jul 23 2005, 11:18 PM) are you sure bout the price of the MIA strat? the last time i was at bentley they tried to sell me a lefthanded MIA strat for 4k without discount QUOTE(TheWhacker @ Jul 24 2005, 09:06 AM) I think it's because you went to Bentley as they are famous for thier "price". I went to Mighty Music at SS2 ... it's around Rm22xx, MIA Strat. Some other shops sells cheaper ... i dunno why, well it's good for us. TheWhacker,Aslo depends what colour you're getting .... as i said above, Sunburst need to add $50USD to $150USD. went to look for mighty music today but unable to locate it. where exactly this mighty music located? is it very much near to SS2's mahogany? do they closed on sundays and public holidays? went to bently later after that and they offered me RM2990 for an MIA strat. |

QUOTE(nick_drake @ Oct 31 2005, 10:22 AM) between the cube and AD30...c'mon la guys.. yes there is tube in the AD30.... but the tube is at the preamp section... not the poweramp. You wont get that sought after tube overdrive unfortunatelythe AD30 is better in terms of versatality.... but by playing with the cube you get a more "raw" feel.... i do agree that the AD30 is better mainly because its got more amp models but i guess it all comes down to personal preference.... if you buy something and later feel unsatisfied with it that only means that you made the ultimate gear hunting mistake of not testing it properly.... |

yes dear evo.
and dear evo again, the tube is in the power amp section. with the tube in the power amp(where it is needed the most) u get that crunching saturation u need. the preamp is entirely digital. comin thru the power section is totally analogue. hold on..lemme search up the manual... direct from the manual : The AD15VT, AD30VT and AD50VT use Valve Reactor technology, and feature a power amp circuit containing a 12AX7 (ECC83) dual triode valve ("vacuum tube") that would normally be used in a preamp. This allows the amp to produce the true sound and feel of a bona fide all valve (tube) amp. theres another whole lot on how the whole preamp>poweramp circuit works in this baby. but i dont wanna paste here la, spam only. unless u guys wanna know. its in the manual anyways. cheers evo. |

QUOTE(headhunter7 @ Oct 31 2005, 10:24 AM) metal eh? yeah...its a modeling amp, so obviously u wld wanna hook up the 'numetal' setting, which gloriously models the dual recto. so yeah, metal heads like u wld love it. tho , u wld hv to EQ it to suit ur taste. if not, theres the other amp model, 'us higain'..which models a high gain soldano. there u go. another metal amp. or else, classic metal or stuff(not me)..the JCM 800 la..(uk 80's) or else..the marshall DSL or TSL (im not sure, its called UK MODERN) ...i dont really favour the marshall dsls. im all for the recto. if that doesnt give u enough gain..pedal in front wld suit u. but i think the gains on thsi amp are good alraedy. hmm i always thought the AD series have the tube in the preamp section...lol
i think the main rule when it comes to buying gear is to try it and make the decision on your own..... unless of course you;re buying online like i said before... its all personal preference.... ive tried the cube and the ad alot of times.... the cube30 and the ad30.... and i personally own a cube 15 the cube gives a "raw" sound.... lots of ppl rave over both of these amps.... and i don't really see why is there an "obvious" choice here. |
