You want with amp with that bugget ? Or just the guitar alone ? SX guitars are affordable with good workmanship plus it plays well. Do goggle around for that brand. You can get a good SX guitar for under Rm2000. |

QUOTE(ANGELING @ Sep 5 2005, 04:38 PM) a MIM fender strat + a 15 watt amp.. roland cube 15 or the voxAD15There are alot of really well made MIM strats out there.... just get an expert to play and choose for you.... or a cube 30/Vox AD30 + Samick/SX/Squier... the "inferior" brands... yamaha guitars get quite good reviews.... especially the 2005 new models |

The Yamaha Pacifica range are superb guitars. Any model within your budget should be a serious candidate imo.
Anyway, the new RGX models not only look great, but (apparently) sound good too. The thing about Yamaha guitars is that 'you get what you pay for'. And if you don't believe it, go down to Combo Mix and try one out. |

All of them, if you're unsure what guitar you want, the 112 is the safest bet. However, all of them give you a good deal for your money. If you can afford them, that is.
The thing is that our local Yammy guitars are made in Indonesia, I dunno if that makes a vast difference, but I thought just so you know anyway. |

Yo Angeling, you said you like Slow rock? or Rock? then you're safest bet is a Tele IMO. An LP is not as versatile as some ppl think. But a Tele can get closest to that "normal guitar" sound you were talking about- Mexican Teles are beautiful and costs around 2K. Or you can always buy a Squire/SX Tele which I have had great experiences with. Teles are great for strumming and EXTREMELY versatile! how's the XS LP standard? how's the sound? ![]() ![]() |

angeling>> since u r new to guitar, i would advise u to avoid choosing guitars with trem/ floyd rose . tuning / restring them is sometimes pain in the arse. i think the strat is a pretty good choice! Well, i know u like LP guitars (seeing that u 've brought up quite a few times), but bear in mind that it is VERY heavy, n limited access to higher frets. but if u like thick, warm tone, then nothing beats the les paul!
cheers |

Hmm... since you're new to guitar, try checking out the new Fender G-Dec amp. Basically it's a digital-modelling amp with a 'band' in it. There're some presets for drums & rhythm patterns inside, great for keeping up with the beat.
& I second evo.com's choice of amps : Vox AD15VT & Roland Cube 15. |
