How much can you pour out from your pocket is another issue, the more the better, U2410 is another better one, more features and of course more $$ to spend to.
Dell IPS is value, not the best neither the worst, you can find those good one like iMac, expensive, premium, good looking as well, but that's you have the budget.
I'm not too sure which one the best out there, but those very very good one might only available through online purchase, overseas, expensive + heavy shipping, if you can pour that kind of money, it's worth every cents drool.gif

p/s: Better start using your mouse more by clicking each page and looking at U2311H comments/reviews... people here are pretty frustrated by that question sweat.gif

Thanks. I just did my rough research, seems that imac monitor utilizes the LED, currently the only monitor on par with imac is Dell U2711 and it costs rm2700. laugh.gif laugh.gif

It's just their marketing gimmick. Means that the quoted price already been discounted from the original price.

the Dell 2209WA has a better panel, but the resolution is not enough imo.Your choice though [U2311H is already very good, iinm it loses out to the 2209WA in terms of colour uniformity and viewing angles.]

With budget RM200 is pretty low for new lcd. 17" around RM300 +/-
You can consider 2nd hand LCD or CRT monitor.

Hello sifu2, I lost track on the warm to cool (left to right) gradient or is it vice versa issue for some time ago for the dell U2311H;
Does it still have this problem so will it affect so much to me because I do occasionally when the grass out there is greener(freelance job) do some photo/image editing & web page designing. Planning to get one IPS soon. Any advise will be great.

Get the 2209WA instead if you serious about the issue, from what I see, I didn't saw anyone report any problem on 2209WA yet, it's 22", 1680x1050 (16:10 ratio), it has better quality compare to U2311H, price is tad higher too...

Then, on the other hand... if you want to enjoy 1080p movie... buy the U2311H... whistling.gif

I can't say Dell brand is good, but the service and warranty they provide is top notch in Malaysia, that's pretty much all, other than that, Samsung has good monitor bezel design, very curvy, very slim yet sturdy stand (I haven seen anyone got the super slim stand broke yet). LG is value, the LG E2350T seems to have good review on the Internet as well.

Dell U2211h (RM599)
LG E2350T (around RM560)

Yes, most monitor don't have built-in speaker.

For guide on how to connect PS3 to LCD monitor can read here

Add another RM30~50 for 21" FullHD, or you can already get LG 23" one within RM550.
Go read few pages back for more details.

Have a look few pages ago, all Full HD (TN panel) within RM550 already has HDMI connectivity, so no problem for gaming console.

It doesn't give a better image quality, even backlight bleeding isn't cured. One more thing,i found out at anandtech a LCD that uses WLED has a lower colour gamut than a LCD with CCFL backlght.
If you want better image quality, look for LCD that uses other panels than TN such as IPS and VA.

For me, I would spend the extra money that spent on LED lcd, to a better panel like IPS/PVA.

Put side by side.
IPS/PVA can show difference vs TN (or so called normal one)

Put side by side
a normal LED backlight LCD vs a normal non-LED backlight, most won't notice the difference.

Beside panel,
The LED lcd contrast control will be better then normal lcd.
While compare Samsung LED LCD with their normal LCD together side by side. I really feel the normal lcd suck sad.gif Old tech ! shakehead.gif *Just my personal opinion.

Best is you look your self. maybe there is no difference for you.

Or follow Mr cherroy & Racerx advice, IPS/VA panel still better in color accurate. Currently Dell Ultrasharp U series very worth with their price.
