Hmmmm, it should be fun to fly in Dubai.
But here in Penang there are not much choices you have, it is not easy to find one around my living area.

Yaloh, 450size heli cannot b seen clearly after 100 meters approximately.
Those 550, 600, 700 dun know can go how far. But I think heli is not for flying far, it is more for 3d nowadays.

I still have not got the time to go to Dragon Mart and Dubai to check out what options/brands I have, can only go this weekend, hopefully I can find something nice for me to start with.

If not have to buy from Malaysia and bring it over to Dubai dy.

Dunno ... still never fly here before ... tongue.gif

But I also thinking about the location, originally I though of driving into the desert and fly it from there, so even if crash also at least not hard ground, but read somewhere it is not advisable to fly the heli on dirt area, as it could get into the mechanical part of the heli. So I guess I will need to think of a place to fly once I got the heli.

i fly at bandar tun hussein onn cheras for now
most of the time i just fly planes .. occasionally i do take my heli out

most radios can go beyond 1.5km line of sight in perfect conditions ... our eyes cannot even see a normal car that far let alone an rc plane or heli
interference and lock outs are a totally different story

My 100m is just an estimation so that's y I said approximately tongue.gif
But my estimation was a bit inaccurate. Anyhow, my BCP I think can see properly around 50m with the white copterx canopy, it's big!

Sweeann, if financially allowed then of course go for trex ...
The tx I think u should get 7 channels because if u fly GP heli then will need that. Of course, six channels still do the job nicely for EP heli.

How much is the difference for a 6-channel and 7-channel?

By the way, besides the following online stores:

graffititoys.com - http://graffititoys.com/ContactUs.html
rcsmart - http://www.rcsmart.com.my/index.asp
mymegastation - http://mymegastation.com/t1/home.php

Any other that I missed out? I mean local malaysian stores.

Price is not the same, hehehehheheh.
It's simple actually lah, you have 1 more channel for control from 7ch compare to 6. I think 6ch usually come with basic feature and if the Tx has more channels then it will be quite complicated inside.

other than that you can also look for hobbysportz, rcdreamz and so on but some of the LHS selling quite expensive .....

hobbytech ... hobbyworld ... rcsmart
3 of these LHS are in amcorp mall PJ
there is another couple of hobby shops in times square which i forgot the names already ... one o them is a KYOSHO distro

it is best to buy the best radio u can AFFORD
ie. if u can stretch your budget to buy a 7 channel then buy that ... if still can go higher then buy the higher one
i am using the 8FG .. this has all the features i need for the time being and the near future that i can foresee .. around rm1.3k

I am using walkera 2801 pro tx. Hehe, as a newbie this eight channels tx is more than enough to me. This is a budget radio system so it may be slightly different with those branded like futaba. For example, the travel adjust for rudder servo in heli mode is used to set the travel speed. but in airplane mode it is used to adjust travel limit/angle.

So far I have only one micro heli (120 size maybe) from Walkera, the 4G6 and Qiw has the 4G6S.

To be frankly I am happy with this small little heli but it is harder to learn compare to BCP, one thing good is that it is more durable in a small crash. I am using this heli as my trainer heli to learn new flying style.

The cost to get one of this RTF is not cheap though. Also take note that micro heli usually hard to survive in windy condition, the bigger the heli the better they handle the wind.

Stay away from walkera or esky beltcp, u will eventually keep it in store after a few crash. Less spareparts and expensive. Stick to trex or trex clones, parts are everywhere and cheap.

Added on January 21, 2011, 6:58 pmYou might want to join malaysiarc for details, they are far more experience and i bet none of them reccomend beltcp as it makes your learning curve steeper. Ask qiw he used to fly beltcp then change to trex.

The rest dont bother. I saw one guy keeping their heli in store, i bet he will never fly his beltcp again, he even have the chick to put his trash on sale, lol, what a joke.

Anw its all personal preference lah, if u wanted something to fill up the store or thrash, beltcp, period.

If you think you want to enjoy rc heli, trex or trex clones.

I played trex, clones and beltcp, the latter ones are thrash.

Added on January 21, 2011, 7:05 pmForget to mrntion KDS is a good brand too.

Anw, visit the link below, u get better advice than u could get frm here.
