if your piro rates are slightly different ... adjust your end points
if u have equal travel on both directions and tail blade has no or very little countering pitch when servo is centered then for sure one direction piro will always be faster than the other due to main rotor torque
adjust using your dual rate for rudder .. leave the end point adjustment on the gyro and travel adjust alone
Added on May 30, 2011, 10:28 pmor if u do not wanna touch the radio setup then do this preferable method (i did it this way) ...
then u have to do the rate mode style rudder setup like for the older gy401
put your gyro into rate mode (gain is same % as your head hold) instead of head hold ... then try and hover your heli
u will find the heli tail wanna swing to the right ie. no countering torque
adjust the linkage to provide more pitch to counter the tail going right ... normally is until about 8 degree pitch (almost impossible to gauge by eye unless u expert) ...
when u can hover the heli in rate mode relatively stable without the tail drifting too much (damm hard to get perfect no drift) and no rudder input correction ... then u are done and no need to adjust radio or any other electronics
put your gyro back into head hold mode ... test your piro and u will see that left and right piro rates will be the same
Let me try to understand what you were saying.
Well. The length of the tail shaft will always be fixed, so it gives you the absolute value of pitch all the time. For example, 20 degrees with +10/-10 or +13/-7 or +15/-5. Just assumption!
If we do that in rate mode then at servo horn centered, then it should be around 8 degrees (counter torque). But then although servo horn is centered and now your tail pitch slider not center already. From there isn't it the tail pitch will still be only +10/-10 and it just that your center the servo horn (not tail pitch slider) with +8 and maybe you have another +2 to counter the torque only. In this situation will it still giving the same piro speed on both direction?
The 450 Pro has a fixed position to install the servo so is that possible to achieve uneven tail pitch? Like +13/-7 or +15/-5
