Yeap, I agree with you, Qiw.
A combo package is around RM1.3K now but it comes with a receiver worth RM400, battery, battery charger and accessory I think. But the problem is their receiver is quite expensive loh ..... Added on June 10, 2011, 1:03 pm But what happen to the 10CHG radio? It looks like a lot of the people are selling theirs ..... because it cannot use with the lower end receiver like R617FS? Yeap, but that is something somehow very nice already ......
If you want to start cheaper, around 600++RM can get most of the thing, a 450 heli but don't recommend if you afford to pay more for better heli. |

QUOTE(chenghoe @ Jun 11 2011, 10:48 PM) No lah, 450 heli is a size of the heli. There are 250, 450, 500, 550 and etc.450 size is quite popular. I can recommend align trex 450 if you think you want to fork out at least 2k to start. That is a pretty nice heli. I started with not so recommended esky belt cp, then kena poison kau kau and now i am flying a 450 trex. There are quite a lot of choices in 450, other than the above you can look for tarot, flasher or hk450. These are the famous clone of align trex. If you are going with the clone, i recommend tarot because their quality not bad though. But this is what i read and heard only. Tarot parts are mainly in hk and china, so far not much in malaysia so you might consider that as well just in case u need parts after crash. Start with a clone may be cheaper than a align trex. For example, this one is around rm600++ ( exclude shipping ) http://www.hobby-wing.com/tarot-450-pro-rc...uper-combo.html Trex is around 1k++, but of course the electronics are not the same lah ..... All are Ready To Fly (RTF) package, it means you have everything ready for you to start but may require setup prior to fly.
The first one and the second one should be 4 channels fixed pitch heli only. They are easy to learn compare to the third one, which is a 6 channels collective pitch and bigger heli. If you want to go for the third one, you don't have to get it from OHS. LHS already selling this Belt CP V2. Anyhow, try to get the newer version, Belt CPX that is a newer design. But ah, Belt CP heli is not so recommended unless you are not willing to spend more. This LHS, rcdreamz carries walkera heli as well but I think you should compare the price first Also, importing the whole heli and transmitter from oversea may bring you some problems dealing with our custom. QUOTE(chenghoe @ Jun 12 2011, 08:26 PM) So walkera>belt cp helis? Most obvious one is the stability, easy setup and 3D capable (pilot skill not counted of course What is not so recommended feature of this belt cp actually? Besides buying the whole heli package, what is the maintainance cost like? I'm thinking of getting the flyless bar version helis, looks easy to fly. So in other words, bcp is not so stable, hard to setup and not so capable of doing 3D stunts. Maintenance cost? Depends on how frequent you crash, a Trex minor crash would have to cost you at least RM100 already but probably not much difference for a belt cp to crash. Battery for a 450 size heli is quite affordable nowadays so the cost should not be very high. One 2200maH 35C 3S LiPo is around RM80 and if you taking good care of it the battery can last quite long. For example I have one for my belt cp previously, after a year I still can use it on my trex now for sport flying. There are at least 100 cycles of charging/discharging already. Anyway, what's your budget first? It would be easier to give you suggestion ..... Added on June 12, 2011, 9:59 pm QUOTE(QiW @ Jun 12 2011, 08:47 PM) the cost of a BMW and a MYVI is not the same Hehehe, yes they can both get u from A to B but the speed is different ......... agree?maintenance costs oso not the same looks oso not the same but they can both get u from point A to point B basically the same reasons stands for helis as well ... get the idea ?? most of the time u get what u pay ... Not sure how good is the stability of a fbl because i have none. But i do believe it is better than a f'barred one.
Since you are still new to this hobby, i SUGGEST u to take the walkera FP heli first to feel the poison. Then maybe u r willing to dump in budget for a better heli later. But if u want belt cp u should get this newer version, http://www.rcsmart.com.my/webshaper/store/...roductItem=5048 Still less than rm600 exclude shipping..... |

QUOTE(sLapshock @ Jun 13 2011, 08:23 AM) Why not suggest him lama v3 first and a pheonix or realflight? You can suggest to him mah Anywhere where is ccfook eh? He's into Poodle and Tarantula (from his post) now ea, not into Heli anymore? ccfook ar .. u try and kacau him loh Added on June 13, 2011, 11:03 am Actually ah, anyone heard of burning the receiver before because of servo drawing too much current? For example if the trace of the PCB of a receiver can only handle 5A current max but if all the servo can draw up to 10A will it actually burn up the receiver because of this? QUOTE(QiW @ Jun 13 2011, 11:35 AM) unlikely ... coz the current/power supply on the rx board are parallel Maybe I should re-phrase my question like this:so if your servo draws very high current it will just pass thru transparently in the receiver .. current goes straight to your servo never heard of a receiver burn coz of that ... most rx KO coz of crash and maybe burn in fire of crash ... hehehehe having said that ... it is best to range test your rx if u have had severe crash with it b4 putting it into the next model the UFL connectors inside maybe damaged of broken ... its super duper small Think about a thin wire which can only sustain 1A max, if we are flowing 10A current through the wire I believe it may burn or melt down the wire. The printed circuit board has the traces to make up a circuit board, the traces are analogy to a wire in fact, it has its own specification as well. So I am just asking if anyone experience this before. The receiver, I believe it has its own maximum current it can stand with, just that not really sure how much it usually can go ......... I found that my receiver is slightly warm after a flight and after using a higher ampere external BEC ...... Hehehe, just curious only ...... But take not that if you order from HK/CN it could take at least 2 weeks to reach you using registered airmail.
I have some online orders from them except the last one ....... |

QUOTE(cpmboy @ Jun 14 2011, 09:48 PM) what abt support@warranty@parts??.....2 weeks is not a problem...im quiet a patient person.....and ...what abt the last one u re talking abt?? Hehehehe, a bit hard to get warranty for hobby parts. But so far I personally feel that the HK/CN sellers are more reliable, responsive and more responsible. Maybe better consumer right in those country and they are actually doing international business with the people all around the world. But you have to take note that some of the OHS required you to pay for the shipping for return stuff which is DOA - Defect On Arrival. The last one I was talking about is another hobby shop in HK I think, I have not done any order with them before but reputation not bad .... Here's a video by dun know who which was comparing HK450 and TAROT heli ...... dun take it serious ==============> Video This post has been edited by daddoo: Jun 14 2011, 10:54 PM |
