Hoya HD is the new version of the Hoya HMC..HD is thinner but is twice the price la though IINM..

I thought HMC is still selling? For Hoya grade (from lowest to highest ) is

Hoya HMC<Hoya Pro1D<Hoya HD

I see.... so I presume the light transmitting % should be around the same, just the frame of HD is thinner and tougher, the glass also tougher coatings n much easier to clean.

yeala. HMC is older one ma. sure considered 'lower grade'. but quality about the same.

correct. laugh.gif hmm. tougher or not i not sure but HMC i can 100% tell u its tough cause mine drop on the floor still din break, only small small crack by the side of the glass. tongue.gif

Lolx, B+W XS-pro is damn good but the only trouble is hard to clean sweat.gif unlike the Hoya HD which is much easier to clean

It's not that much more than the other top of grade UV filter, almost same price with Heliopan 77mm(Made in Germany also drool.gif )

Well the lens was released in 1995 sure not much people still have it heck even sell it...

Gimme 5, I prefer HD too. Initially had 1 HD 1 XS-Pro, now 2 HD 1 XS-Pro xD.
