if u're refering to the DX line up
tokina and sigma are good in term of IQ.
Nikkor 10-24 & 12-24 has more sharpness and soft at the corner.
although they might hav a better focus compare to any third party and come with a bigger price tag.

yup... tokina is the best option after the nikkor.. price wise and good build quality...

sigma or tamron felt like toy (material)..

i own one 11-16... event though the range is a bit to short. but the optic quality is superb.. sometime u feel like using prime...hehe

not f/2.8 and 12-24 is actually a FF lens.

As I've mentioned, this is an old review. You can try searching for the latest, I don't know if there's any. LOL, from my experience using both HD and XS-Pro I know which I prefer.
