transition frm zooms to primes?  whistling.gif

btw, my fren r hunting some old lenses
he's deciding between AFD 24-85 f/2.8-4 n AFS 24-85 f/3.5-4.5
which is better choice?
of cos d bigger aperture of AFD is better, but AFS build n performance much better in reviews
*
AFS 3.5-5.6 is the newer release of this lens... but no longer in production... they still selling the old AFD 2.8-4 though... and it's made in japan if i'm not mistaken...

AF-S 50mm f/1.2G rumours !

The Japanese site digicame-info.com reported a rumor few days ago that Nikon is currently working on new AF-S 50mm f/1.2G and 28mm f/1.4G lenses that will be released in the near future. I received similar tips at the beginning of the year about the 50mm f/1.2G lens and Nikon even filed a patent for it:

http://nikonrumors.com/2010/11/17/rumors-f...evelopment.aspx

This explain why there isn't any GOLD RING at 50mm f/1.4G flex.gif
*

if it's true.... that 1.2 is going to cost a fortune...

Scary, let's pray Nikon Warranty works  smile.gif
Anyways, the D7000 just debuted in Kota Kinabalu. Sad isn't it? Body only costs Rm3900, while the kit version costs RM4500+

And something Interests me..

This Battery Grip has an Infrared Auto Focus thingy.
And the back has a LCD Monitor on it.
The BG is Plasticky.. but then it looks nice and it only costs RM400..
How stupid am I for not asking the Name of it..  rclxub.gif

Anybody could help me with this?
*
it's a brand called JENIS... by a HK company... the light is blue in color if i'm not mistaken... still buying accessories...? i thought you want to upgrade to FX soon...? tongue.gif
http://www.dinodirect.com/nikon-d300-lcd-t...grip-jenis.html

their official website...
http://www1.hkjenis.com/default.aspx?AspxA...CookieSupport=1

they have 2 types of battery grip for D300/D300s/D700.... 1 is normal type... another 1 is with bigger screen as well as a multi selector...

*
that's going to cost you 1 and a half 1635/85mm... but i think it's worth it... brows.gif

Y u get the 16-35 F4 instead of this beast? or the 24-70? lol..... Anyway how much does the 14-24 cost? 6k range?
*
i would get 1635 rather than 1224..... the sharpness is about the same... 1635 is lighter and cheaper... and you dont really need that 2.8 bokeh if you're shooting landscape...

Only lens I want now, 35mm f/1.4 and maybe 24mm.
The only body I want now, 5dMKII features but D3s noise control or even better than D3s !
*
haha... something better than D3s.... D3s noise control is already something beyond compare...

but some said D700 is better than 5DMKII when it comes to shooting...

85mm enough for stage shots a? 135mm have better range IMO.

anybody have this two lens? which do you prefer for stage? let's leave aperture out of the question la. i know 85mm wins in terms of f1.4 or f1.2 laugh.gif
*
i think 85mm is just nice.... while anything lower than 50mm is not that good for stage shots... unless you get really close... which most of the time you're not suppose to...

Budget not a problem ? Get 35mm f/1.4G. Way better than Sigma flex.gif
And your mindset is wrong. Be it DX or FF lens, on DX body, you still need to x 1.5

yes it is.... i have 24-70... but dont have 70-200... so might go for 85mm... that's the only 1 that i can afford anyway...

chobo, I would go for 70200 if I were you. Cover more range, and VR can make up for the f/2.8 instead of f/1.4.
*
QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 22 2010, 06:39 PM)
second that.
*
not that i dont want to.... but no ammo man....

besides... shooting with 24-70 whole day long already able to ruin my right hand... can get worst with sb900 mounted on it... the thing i like about prime is they are razor sharp and lighter....

You've seen how the 2470 performs right? The 70200 is similar in terms of sharpness! The IQ from 70200 won't disappoint you, plus you get the 70-200 range. Only downside, HEAVY~! I've shoot whole day with the 70200 before.. still can accept tongue.gif. (But without SB900 since it is a motorsport event hehe)
*
did you use battery grip...? i heard adding battery grip will help balance up the center of the weight... but i have try that though...

D90 + grip + 2 batt + 70200, did this during motorsport events. For stage events longest i've covered is probably from 9pm~2am LOL. Lugging the 70200 all over... -.-
*
you didnt use monopot...? it helps a lot while shooting sport events...

QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 22 2010, 06:53 PM)
70200 also razor sharp la sleep.gif
So ? Sharper and way better.
And lens hood ? You can buy what doh.gif
And even with this small lens you can fell, 70200 is out of your league, definitely.
Yes. Battery grip helps up alot.
*
i see... thanks for the advices.... will try adding one on before my next shoot...

battery grip help alot. providing ur hand a larger gripping surface and weight balance.

u might not need a 85mm thou the big F is great.
an ultra wide should be more useful for ur need. smile.gif
*
