Depends on your budget lor. But my advice is, don't buy Forte 1.6. Either buy forte 2.0, Inspira 2.0 or Inspiria 1.8.
The forte 1.6 use the old Spectra engine and is pretty underpower.
You should go test drive all these cars before making a decision.

bro dont think the forte is using the old spectra engine. right now the forte has 6 speed definitly not a spectra engine at all

the 1.6 engine is the gamma engine that was used in the later spectra, but not the earlier spectra that was notorious for fuel guzzling

It's the later spectra engine as stated by ckk125, gearbox and engine is two different thing. You can slap a new gearbox to the same old engine as long as tuned properly....think of it like CPU and GPU...hehe.
Anyway, just test drive it...you'll feel the underpower...forte is too heavy for 1.6cc...like what they did last time with Sephia and Spectra....downgrade to 1.5cc/1.6cc....overseas version was 1.8cc. I believe the Forte versions that is getting the good reviews are 2.0cc and 2.4cc..in US..which also gets 10 years warranty!!!! (No wonder the good reviews!)....why Naza here only give 2 years manufacturer + 3 years EWP?? doh.gif

Forte 1.6 might use same engine as Spectra 5 model, but improved version....well, underpowered only by the super duper heavy 17'' rims....1.6EX looks great and powerful ma....so, not entirely true of underpowered 1.6....
1.6 with 17'' rims....together 5 of them(with spare)....car's weight gone horrendously high

I dunno about you...1.6 forte seriously lacks response in acceleration, from the moment you step on pedal to getting it moving. 1.8 Inspira has better response from my testing experience. And 1.8 CVT now has promotion 3 years free maintenance (parts + labor). This should make choosing easy....tongue.gif

I suggest you go for Forte 2.0 if you really like Forte, or sure regret later....

What is your previous car anyway???

Conclusion? Well, test drive both and decide....
As stated clearly on my sig, if you are the tak apa person that don't mind on the tak apa attitude when having problems with your car soon-to-get, Proton will be great.
But if you mind on after sales service, any brand other than Proton can do....
To choose between 2, in terms of features, Forte will be better choice... Now is Ipad, iPhone connection, Proton still using a 10 year old concept....
If short distance driving and once a blue moon long journey travel, lower cc engines will be better, as they can help on reducing your wallet's burden....

I think the sig of a troll does not have much credibility lor. 10 years old concept? LOL. True for people still driving 10 years old rusty Wira. nod.gif

Eone: Electronic gadgets are cool and great. But when it breaks, your wallet flys. Personally i think even the Inspira have too many unnessarry stuff like rain detector, auto air cond...(whatever the hell is that, haven't read manual yet!). The only really useful gadget is the auto-cruise, coz this will helps you rest your legs on long journey.

My bad, make a mistake..... Never follow tech stuffs on iPhones.... iPhone should be able to connect to Forte's HU while iPad I guess cannot... But always can test this out during test drive....
Well, when the planners never plan the spare parts properly and suddenly it fails and beyong their control, for sure you will need to wait long time for the parts. Unless you willing to buy that single part alone and using air mail service... Else every brand will be the same, bad after sales service like you said.
Sometimes the parts arrive late is due to our lazy loyal Kastam also... If you deal with them before and you will know how "effective" their work are....

found out that only 2.0 inspira got auto-cruise, 3 years warranty, 84.5 k, 3% interest, but only for cvt 1.8, not 2.0, is it ok? I just come back from proton edar, submitted all required documents, but still got time to choose which one until I sign the agreement..

bro, just get da 2.0.. flex.gif

all cars will have some problem...even toyota. whatever the reason, waiting a few weeks for parts is way too long.

mine, within a week, parts arrived, and those are made in Japan.

sometimes excuses are only for losers.

Hahaha..yup thats true. I thnk depends on what kind of cars you previously drove and/or test drove. To me I dont feel the 1.6 forte is underpower. But thats just me.
