QUOTE(G-17 @ Nov 17 2010, 03:48 AM) @Sarbath It might be more helpful if you included the link to that site you mentioned. I assume you downloaded an archive (either .zip, .tzr or .tar.gz), right? Usually, you'll find a folder inside the archive. you copy-pasta it into the ~/.themes (DOTthemes folder in your /home directory... press Ctrl+h in your file manager to see hidden folders/files) That's how it *usually* works, but I can't be certain until you link the site you downloaded it from. ty bro for your reply, yep usually all the theme inside that site are downloaded as .tzr .. i have follow their instruction such as open up usr/share/gdm/theme and paste the theme inside the theme folder.. but the case is it doesnt have the what so called "theme" folder inside the gdm .. isshhh is the theme folder inside gdm hidden ?? the linux mint site >> LinuxMint-art.org

Sometimes we need to read any instructions given by the maintainer on how to apply the theme, different ppl creates different method of installation.

IIRC, there will be no more modifications allowed in GDM for Ubuntu starting from 9.10 (Karmic) onwards, which I believe affects Linux Mint (which is now up to version 10, equivalent to Ubuntu's 10.10 I suppose) as well. So... yeah. I also missed the ability to change the GDM theme

Currently on my netbook's GRML partition. WM is Openbox. Wallpaper is something I drew on paper a long time ago, scanned and bitmap-traced (my manga rendition of a young Bjork). Conky on upper-left. Panel below is tint2. Haven't found time to make a suitable GTK for this yet. This post has been edited by G-17: Nov 19 2010, 03:20 AM
