It might be more helpful if you included the link to that site you mentioned.

I assume you downloaded an archive (either .zip, .tzr or .tar.gz), right?

Usually, you'll find a folder inside the archive. you copy-pasta it into the ~/.themes (DOTthemes folder in your /home directory... press Ctrl+h in your file manager to see hidden folders/files)

That's how it *usually* works, but I can't be certain until you link the site you downloaded it from.

ty bro for your reply, yep usually all the theme inside that site are downloaded as .tzr .. i have follow their instruction such as open up usr/share/gdm/theme and paste the theme inside the theme folder.. but the case is it doesnt have the what so called "theme" folder inside the gdm .. isshhh is the theme folder inside gdm hidden ??

the linux mint site >> LinuxMint-art.org

The whole .tzr without need to decompress, bukak appearance drag aja folder tu ke dalam. Sometimes we need to read any instructions given by the maintainer on how to apply the theme, different ppl creates different method of installation.

weh aku dah try drag the folder.trz tu freshly without extract pape ke dalm appearance.. then it say not a valid theme name.. Aku pening weh

I don't use Ubuntu, Gnome or GDM... so I can't speak from first-hand experience.
