I dont really feel any significant to update to Gingerbread. Froyo is a big step forward for speedup but never heard the same thing about GB except for some features that will only be supported on newer phone.

Kinda agree to this one.
I do not think it'll bring too much diff.
Anyone to go for GB under CM7 nightly and tell us in details on the diff?
I got too much things to back up d. Moreover not free nowadays.
By the way, anyone doing wire harness?? Especially in automotive segment?? Please PM me.

Gingerbread isn't a significant step up for the end-user who is already using Froyo. Think of it as the 2.1 to the 2.0 Eclair.

Performance upgrades were negligible versus Froyo at same clock speeds when I tested it (not sure if they have improved, mine was a Ali Ba's earliest build).

It's even less impressive if you are using a Sense 2.2 ROM, which already has the select/copy/paste functionality more or less honed.

But the CM7 early build was already like 85-90% functional when I flashed it, so there's no real cost to having the latest & greatest.

If not gatal tangan, just wait for the final release:)

I would like to flash CM7 but the 3D graphic issues really prevent me from doing so. Anyone on BlaY0's rom?

A bit too high there. An SiS Warrantied unit without scratches usually goes for only RM1100+
I recommend you bring it down to at least RM1000 or so, do note that with RM1200 people can get a second hand Desire already.

Regarding to Gingerbread, its difference is minor in terms of overall features. But I noticed the UI speed is much better (eg. no lag when scrolling lists anymore). Its main upgrades are developer focused, so not much is affected for us end users here.

Using it. Love it. Felt the same like Vodafone rom, cos afterall it is based on Sense rom. But I love how the a2sd is implemented.

HD2? I hope my eyes are okay...

I think its really a waste to be upgrading at this moment. For me, the jump/gap just is not big enough to justify upgrading any Android phone at this very moment. Just wait until Honeycomb comes out and then see how Android will response to the emergence of dual cores cpu (probably even GPU) and we will start seeing something we have never seen done with Phones.
