Which court would entertain a lawsuit over a thousand ringgit phone?
Your lawyer's fees would be more than what you'd get even if you won, which would be the cost of the phone, at best. |

Sure hope so, else the look on the face when Shyster, Huckster & Co present their bill would be priceless
The correct course of action would be to take it up with the Consumer Tribunal and hope that this shakes the company enough to honor the warranty. If they do decide to go to arbitration, be prepared to spend a significant number of days attending arbitrations, delays, postponements, etc. If you tough it out, you'll likely win. But since it's over a phone, you can be near certain that the victory will be both moral and Phyrric. This post has been edited by Cannonfodder: Nov 22 2010, 09:53 PM |

Brut mod 17 changed naming conventions.
First one is if you have rooted and removed the supplied Google Maps. Won't install otherwise. The second will install alongside existing Google Maps and be identically named. Apk is renamed to allow installation but you will have TWO Google Maps icons. Third is what he had been doing so far, which also installs alongside existing Google Maps but marks the modified version with [brut] |

I keep getting a "size mismatch" error when I try to download the 1.31 Asia RUU from Shipped ROMS.
Anywhere else I can get a hold of it? ************** S'okay, downloads fine in Linux. This post has been edited by Cannonfodder: Dec 9 2010, 11:57 AM |

Desire HD is already on Digi's SmartPlan, RM1,399 for 24mth lock-in.
But screw HTC and they're slow-as-a-three-legged dog updates, I'm not buying any more of their crap. |

Got sick of waiting for HTC. Rooted and flashed to Vodafone ROM.
This way, I get the update AND I can be sure I'll get Gingerbread if and when the modders hack it up. |

Something's gone wrong then. The whole process took me less than 10 minutes.
It took me longer to downgrade to the 1.31 ROM. Got your gold card sorted? |

QUOTE(Warwick @ Dec 9 2010, 09:24 PM) hehe! some of us here patience running dry adi so f*rk it and root lo! shiok also to customise the phone but for me too much hassle and phone must be reliable for me as cant afford to keep on messing with phone and missing calls. I'm using the Vodafone ROM and it works just like stock.Seriously, rooting/flashing is so easy that I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. And it's opened up a new side of the phone for me... kinda like discovering boxers after a lifetime of briefs |

Not the same, kemosabe, you're confusing your apples with your doughnuts.
[HOWTO] DOWNGRADE to 1.31 which you can then root for Legend 2.1 <--- This step DOWNGRADES your 2.05 ROM to the 1.31 version so that you can root. You may not need this if your phone is still on the 1.31 ROM. [HOWTO] Rooting your Legend! Guide from MoDaCo! <--- This step ROOTS your now downgraded and rootable 1.31 ROM |

Check to see what version ROM you're running. Then proceed accordingly.
Settings > About phone > Software version. |

If you suspect it might be, maybe make a new one? Takes but a sec and you can eliminate one more cause.
Other than that, no more ideas from me |

Use the goldcard tool; it works, it's fast, it's easy.

That's the Global RUU. Not Asia, if that matters.

After using the Froyo and CM6.1 ROMs, I'd strongly recommend the latter.
The stock Froyo is faster than Eclair, but CyanogenMod is on a completely different level. The phone feels so much more responsive and, despite overclocking the CPU, I'm actually getting better battery life than before. Talk about having your cake and eating it. |
