Will the normal way work?

helo,

i'm gonna buy a 2nd hand legend. how do i check if it's rooted or not? i prefer to get a not rooted yet and maybe will root after warranty is over. i know some people say that we can unroot it it before go to claim warranty but reading all the jargon u guys talk above, I'm afraid it's gonna take time for me to do it i'm not so techie, just so-so.

and any heads up on hardware faulty that i can check? thanks.

fyi, other low res keyboards you find in XDA forum will most likely force close (not compatible with froyo...or something).

You can't tell if he has unrooted the phone, but if it's rooted, you can see a Super User icon when you open the menu. IT will look something like this but the icon might be different.

Thats because you choose v1.6+. If you use v1.5 which is without voice, that would work just fine.

Do not use SETCPU with stock Froyo if you had flash the rooted VF rom. I think its not compatible with the new kernel. Once installed, phone become unresponsive and lags everywhere.

I feel that the MCR froyo rom isn't really smoot, a bit lag compare CM nightly... Due to the Sense UI?
Hmm... but i do like the extra things MCR froyo rom provides...

Why dont you try the stock Froyo by whiteigerdk? Im using that and its just fine. Just make sure you dont install SETCPU. I also wipe clean my SDCARD and partition it using Recovery with one 32mb swap followed by 512MB EXT3 and a fat32 partition. Its quick... webpage loading does slow down a bit because it would be loading flash.

Seems like a lot of people already flashed the new Froyo. Tempted but meh, will wait for a clean Froyo. Not much of a Sense fan, except for the dialer.

I really don't understand why do people dislike HTC Sense. Enlighten me please.

Because some people (me for example) don't need all the eye-candy and extra stuff Sense is offering. So I prefer Sense-less roms over any Sense roms.
