Hi

Anyone here facing prob with the phone jack? the jack connection is not stable whenever i connect the earpiece to the phone, it needs to be in certain height  n direction for it to play smoothly.sad.gif

Does the home button cover in warranty? The button is loose since the day i've used the phone and it's quite irritating sometime as the button will sink in certain level. Btw, the phone is only one month old from digi.  =(

did u try using another earpiece? could it be the earpiece's jack problem? as for the home button, it is covered under warranty. but good luck convincing them that the button is defective. if it's really obvious that the button has already sank, then they will probably change the entire phone casing+buttons for you (or at least that's what they told me).

well, my experience of dissecting the legend tells me that no matter how many times they change the casing and buttons, the buttons will eventually sink.

this is because beneath each button is a strip of soft rubber pad, which will make contact with the button switch below. this soft rubber will eventually get compressed, which results in the button sinking. the 'pad' below my "back" button is almost half of the height of other buttons' pad.

flashed the rooted vodafone froyo rom, and it's definitely snappy! rclxms.gif. for those who can't wait, NOW is definitely the time to root your phone!

for those who just jumped onto the froyo bandwagon and is looking for a workable HTC IME modded keyboard, head over to http://www.gimpsta.com/themerlo. register yourself for free and start designing your own keyboard (select the v27-froyo low res).

fyi, other low res keyboards you find in XDA forum will most likely force close (not compatible with froyo...or something).

Thats because you choose v1.6+. If you use v1.5 which is without voice, that would work just fine.

oh, didn't know about that biggrin.gif. thanks for the clarification.

i noticed that my vodafone-based Froyo ROM is draining more battery than Eclair. also, for the same media volume setting, the FM radio is much louder than the music app. i guess that's the price to pay for the speed increase wink.gif

oo quick question, if i rooted to the vodafone froyo, will i get the features of app2sd and the wifi tethering?
*
yup, app2sd and wifi tethering is part of froyo. to use app2sd, go to settings->applications->manage applications. for me, i find the wifi tethering rather slow (takes time for my laptop to connect to the adhoc network). i prefer to use "wireless tether" as it has access control/mac address filtering - no need for network passwords, so it's faster biggrin.gif

yes. it is v1.5  cry.gif  how?

for those who would like to use the HTC_IME mod keyboard, let me give you some choices - either use the v1.5 (older version), make your own keyboard, or download the keyboard in the link below.

how to make your own keyboard:
-visit this website: http://www.gimpsta.com/themerlo/
-register yourself (it's free)
-select "Create a custom keyboard skin from scratch"
-select "v27-froyo low res; 1.6+" under the android OS version
-theme your own keyboard!

here's a sample keyboard:
