Ok.. if u use the update.zip, from recovery 2e, it will change ur recovery 2e to CWM, shd u wanna revert to the stock 2e, there is option from the CWM.

Subsequently, u just have to follow the instruction to install the particular fw that u want


Wait... u can't even get into ur phone, how are u going to copy the update.zip file into ur sdcard?

I flashed to DZJP2, froyo 2.2 then I copy the files to my /sdcard already... Too bad the recovery already changed to 3e... now trying to flash back to eclair again...

once u in 2e, just follow the step by steps from DOC's ROM froyo... every easy and clear.

Back to eclair with recovery 2e... but it keeps return to recovery screen after I applied update.zip(Clockworkmod)

Have to apply twice.

like this

Off phone, boot into recovery2e

Apply update.zip

then phone will reboot

choose apply update.zip again

then it will become CWM

Install Doc Froyo... Please pray for me.....

10minutes later...

WOOHOO!!! I am at Doc Froyo!!

Holy battery sucking powers, Batman.

Ok guys, I finally took the time to unshackle myself from Eclair (JM8 with optimized JM8+Voodoo kernel) and flashed Doc Froyo 7.5 JPO ROM, JPP modem and YA-OK kernel.

I decided to flash the *supposedly* better and more power efficient JPD modem because I had some weird problems with my calls and Wifi on JPP (Wifi would turn on but sometimes refuse to connect, calls would mysteriously go on Hold mid conversation). But now JPD seems to be a real power sucker. 8am - 6pm with minimal usage and battery is down to a piddly 51% remaining (3G, background sync, Facebook/Twitter every 3 hours, everything else off)

Anyone with a similar setup? How's your battery life?.. damn I hate this phone.

with 3G on that's a reasonable battery life, how long you think the battery can last? a week?

try 2G, it will be much better

Thanks for the patronizing tone. But on JM8 with the same setup (3G enabled, etc), I was getting better mileage from a single charge. I'm basing my expectations off my experience with Eclair. If this is what's considered normal for Froyo, sure, I can live with it. I just needed to know that this is within normal power consumption parameters.

And hell no, it's ridiculous to have spent this much money to just use 2G. That's crap and you know it.

Do factory reset & wipe cache then go into advance feature to do dalvik wipe. Reboot.
