QUOTE(Vint @ Nov 9 2010, 10:39 PM) coz speedmod uses sztupy lagfix whereas doc recommend ext4...so i wonder which one is better or using both..lol What you mean by using both? You can use different file system for different partitions though. My settings is, JFS on data and EXT4 on dbdata, cache and system. cos EXT4 has higher battery consumption. |

QUOTE(jujx @ Nov 10 2010, 10:36 PM) If you're rooted, go market download autokiller, its a memory(ram) management app, don't need to kill apps anymore. Yup, you advised me before and I use autokiller now. But when I play ram-intense games and multitask, my launcher pro gets killed. Then when go back home screen, it lags for 10 seconds for launcher pro to start up again. I don't want it to kill launcher pro when I multi task. How ah? |

QUOTE(lch78 @ Nov 13 2010, 03:32 PM) Nexus 1 & Desire are the catalyst for Android. Galaxy S is the propagation that follows through. And now with all those Desire HD, Droid X, and basically everybody else jumping on the bandwagon, Android is going to enter Explosion state (or in the midst of it). +1 Google knows this, and that is why their Nexus 2 ought to be significantly better than N1 (Not like IP4, not much diff from 3GS). That is why I believe the rumour that Google and Sammy working on N2 is true, coz Google knows Sammy is good on making superb hardware, but lacks on software. Their joint effort could define a new era coming for Android development. Just my opinion though. Just what I thought but I don't know how to put it in words. Haha. It is true, and it was going to release yesterday, but it was pulled back because Google wants to be the first to produce dual core phones with Android. There's a little bit of implications on that from what I read. I hate the fact that I just bought my SGS and in the coming month, probably december, the Nexus S will be released. Time to change again? iPhone 4 is impressive actually; the build quality, the camera, speakers and screen is a vast improvement from iPhone 3GS. Not that I don't think you're right, but everyone has different expectations. |

Compared to JPP? JPD feels smoother but no scientific proofs here cause I haven't benchmark or anything. But I think the difference would be marginal. Don't know about GPS, network or anything that's improved or not on this modem. But fluidity of the UI, impressive. I'll try revert back to JPP and see if it's as fluid or not.
Battery life: Hmm, I've had good battery life with JPP but it's very random. With JPD, since this morning, I've played games straight for 7 hours up till now with fully charged battery. Now, it's at 31%. Pretty impressive. |

QUOTE(holypredator @ Nov 13 2010, 07:24 PM) The phone is seriously buggy .... i wont list them all out but people who use official firmware would know it.. What do you mean? Is there a problem with that? Try setting your wallpaper to the one that gives you water ripple effect [not the one with leaves] .... and you know what i mean... and thats just one of the many flaws.. Well, suit yourself. Whatever floats your boat. Go ahead la. I just wanna say that, you're in SGS thread. People here might sound like "butthurt" when you complain about SGS, I don't think they did, they don't condone to iPhone 4 either, we're just being fair and give you a piece of advise. |

Hey guys, watch this. Can we record 300fps too? I doubt it, since this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838517 This post has been edited by freakfingers12: Nov 13 2010, 10:16 PM |

QUOTE(agn @ Nov 13 2010, 09:42 PM) But all said, Samsung still needs to address the compatibility with their impressive hardware and the Android OS. Hopefully they can get it sorted out soon so we wont have every 5th person here bash the hell out of the SGS and raise the hairs of the backs of some SGS fanboys. That's partly caused by Android being optimised more for Qualcomm processors. But I won't defy the fact that Samsung has no rights to undermine the capabilities of their hardware.Anyway, like what kmrdeva said, users who have done their research before purchasing will be very happy with it. |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 13 2010, 10:58 PM) Agree! I think it's a great improvements over iphone3gs. Oh, that multitasking. I hate to say this, but I hate iPhone multitasking. I've used my friend's a couple times, the only one works is safari I think. XD Like, camera or games, it loads back up instead of continuing from where you stop. Super screen resolutions, superb built quality and premium finishing. I don't understand why people keep complaining that it's not much improvements over 3gs. Even now they have "multitasking" on the iOS4, which is a neat feature already. Aside from the minor nitpicking, there really isn't much to complain about. Added on November 13, 2010, 11:09 pm The video looks fake? Interpolated in-between frames to make it 300fps perhaps? There won't be any sorts of motion blurring at 300fps shots, unless you are video taping a bullet. IOS still suck badly. But, iPhone as a phone itself is great. Oh, that video, I found the source and he uses iPhone 4 to record but uses a video editing software in the computer to edit. QUOTE(lch78 @ Nov 13 2010, 11:47 PM) No..... WT*? Smells like bbq.http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/13/windows...a-grilling-con/ The smartphone competition has just shifted to 5th gear. Hate to say this but, SGS probably will be in archive by next year.. |
