QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Dec 27 2010, 03:07 PM) So they installed new cables?Did they drill a hole through the wall or anything? Glad to hear u got activated fast Yup,new cables. I insisted since the old one was more than 10 years old already. Even the old dish was covered with mold, cannot even read the word astro. They took out the old cable, and used back the hole with the new cable.

QUOTE(hpna @ Dec 27 2010, 01:49 PM) Any contract for swapping max with PVR? According to Astro Byond PVR TnC, there's no contract for Byond PVR... You can terminate it everytime you want. But make sure you give advance one month written notice to terminate the PVR service.. And they will take back your PVR and give you normal Byond.... But you need to remember, once you change to Byond, HD Fees which is RM20 per month is compulsary and you will be "tight" with one year contract with Astro.... You better call them for further clarification.... "If you wish not to use the recording functionality, you shall provide Astro with a minimum One (1) month prior written notice and Astro shall arrange for the collection of the Astro B.yond PVR and its Accessories and provide you with an Astro B.yond Box. If you fail to inform Astro, you shall continue to pay Astro for the monthly recording service fee up to the date of the collection of the Astro B.yond PVR. Please note that any existing recordings that you have made in your Astro B.yond PVR shall not be retrievable or transferable to another device. If later you choose to exchange and upgrade again to the Astro B.yond PVR, a prescribed retrieval fee and/or installation and set up charges will be payable by you to the authorized Astro installer."This post has been edited by AjkR06: Dec 27 2010, 03:46 PM

If you have HD subscription, you will still have to continue paying RM20 and complete the 1-yr contract using the normal B.yond Box instead of the PVR Box. Thanks!

Like in simple comp prgming, If B'yond decoder, then HD signals...Else SD... 1 Ch accomodating both HD & SD... Haha! Wonders of Hi-tech... UPDATE: Yup! Heard on Fiesta advert that it's available in BOTH HD & SD on Ch 110!! Thumbs up to Astro for accomplishing such a feat! Or is it Astro's latest experiment? Don't be fooled by the channel's number. It's just a channel no. & nothing to do with channel's frequency. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Astro Fiesta can be viewed on for Astro Byond Subsribers : Ch 110 (HD) or Ch994 (SD) for Astro Subscribers : Ch 110 (SD)

However, we have to maintain our PVR service at RM 10.00 per month in order to retain the decoder, otherwise, they will swap our decoder to normal B.yond with RM20.00 HD fees for 1 year contract. In other words, PVR is having a "lifetime" contract and lifetime "maintenance". Correct me if I'm wrong!
