depends la. so many photos taken with 5D2 and more expensive cameras were PPed to win awards. in competition like WPPI or MPA, you PPP some more. 3rd is PRINT.

that said you can look at Yervant and his photos, they were PPed. Jerry Ghionis uses 5D2, his PP seems minimal as least to what i see so far la.

the use of 5D2 with L lens is for the good color and IQ. those help you get a good base before applying PP.

now the 550D has this problem. if you are in a cool room and take it to your camera in less cool room, or have temperature change - this one tend to happen. that's what i noticed.

i already highlighted to Canon. they're aware of it too.

1. memory card not found type of error, happens at home. SDcard from cool place to camera........... usually la.

2. memory card suddenly inaccessible when shooting. happens in hotel. only in hotel. so far restaurant at dining table no problem. in conference / ballroom shoot video for 30minutes no issues. outdoors shoot corporate event for more than 30 minutes under damn hot sun until even LCD temperature warning start appearing. also no issue.

sniper, 1st pic if you crop it it'll be really nice.

no leh, just crop it like say half her body or something, not showing the leg. from what i see some crop could make the photo lovely.

if i can afford full frame, i would likely use the $$$ for more lens and accesories than going FF. if got FF also the condition must be that i'm not stuck with that 1 body and limited lens.

IQ is average, usable but not stellar like the higher grade EF-S or L lenses.

AF speed is like the kit lens.

never compare it to the 15-85 IS USM. the market price is nearly double the 18-135 already. the additional range between 85 to 135 is subjective.

Added on November 22, 2010, 9:08 amoh with that - i see you already have 18-55, no point buying an 18-135 IS unless you're getting a used unit with decently cheap price. probably 1.1k - 1.2k range? maybe. DO NOT go buy a new 18-135 IS because it's gonna cost you quite a lot more.

ehh m'sia price not so cheap oh. 15-85 nearly RM 3k even for street price. 18-135 is about RM 1.4k i think.

*if i have RM 1.4k to spend and already have an 18-55 IS, I'd go for Tamron 17-50 VC or top up RM 300 or so for the Tamron 17-50 VC.

RM 4k for 5D, nice but I'd rather save up for a 5D2 with 3 years warranty. plus i get 21MP of goodness and improved AF.

if 5D2 good enough for Jerry Ghionis and Yervant, it's good enough for me.

zelmel - what makes you think those photo you see have no noise? every situation is different. compromises happen. if you expect everything to be PERFECT then you're delusioned. but simple way is you can try snap RAW and underexposed.

what you see from the good photos are the best of the lot - this means they also have failed shots too, further more resized put on web already you may not notice the very subtle motion blur.

what's it got to do with the kit lens? the 18-55 IS is a damn nice lens to use.

you use pop-up flash it's limited because it's DIRECT, that's why the subjects are lit so brightly. the sensor picks up the subject more than the ambient blablablablbalbal.

you put higher shutter speed you're losing out on ambient light. in the end it's a matter of balance but even balance doesn't save everything because when the moment comes you have NO TIME to balance.

please do not think that all those beautiful photos come out 1 piece straight perfect - people actually have photos of multiple exposures to get the exposure they want because the camera sensor is not perfect.

i should write an article on this one......... a bit leceh la but basically you play with layers. 1 layer brighter and 1 layer darker. then you clear up the various areas of the top layer so the exposures are what you wanted. what you see perfectly exposed and all on the Internet, are often post-processed kau kau by photographers.

i disagree. it's great on the 7D already optically speaking.

just because it shines on full frame doesn't mean you can't use.

furthermore it's the only short / standard zoom that provides weather protection when paired with 7D.

*sorry i forgot about the 16-35 f2.8 that one gonna cost more than 7D. hehe.

seriously, who cares about focusing when in video. we use follow focus mechanism lor, manually adjust focusing IMO is still best in video.
