I'm not really a fan of fisheye, so 16-35mm is my vote. biggrin.gif

By the way, about the recovery freeware I used, it is called Recuva.
http://www.piriform.com/recuva
I suggest each of you install a copy in your PC, you wouldn't know when this kind of things will hit on you. It's free and I can say 90% of your files will be recovered. rclxms.gif
nope. you're giving people false hope there.

my card i ter-deleted stuff before. i don't remember recovering 90% of it.

case by case.

Kind of misunderstood me there... when I say invest means pour money into the wireless trigger...  blink.gif I didn't really mean investment  rolleyes.gif

smile.gif Sniper did not misunderstand it at all because that's how English works.

when you say INVEST, it immediately has to do with INVESTMENT.

don't buy what you don't know. don't buy what you don't need. if you intend to buy what you WANT - make sure you don't end up eating grass.

there's more thing in life to spend on than photography gears.

QUOTE(merchant9 @ Nov 18 2010, 03:01 PM)
1. If I use a larger aperture like f2.8, will the DOF preview be clearer in the viewfinder? Somehow, I see like no difference.

what do you mean clearer?

the viewfinder will be unchanged.

when you press DOF preview it will adjust the aperture based on your setting to show you the DOF. the narrower the DOF the darker it is on viewfinder.

QUOTE(merchant9 @ Nov 18 2010, 03:01 PM)
2. Actually I still dont know what * and AE lock means, sorry. I am a little slow here but dont get terms you wrote like "metering" and "AE lock"
let's say you use Av mode.

you point to 1 area. half press shutter, so it get metered.

then you press AE lock to log the setting. then you can point it to other place, the setting won't change.

On AE lock, if it is so troublesome, why dont you just adjust to Tv mode 1/5s and snap on the bright spot? Makes no difference, does it?
the difference is you'll incur more steps. there's a reason why AE lock is available even up to pro grade cameras.

the purpose is to meter it based on one area but to use it on other area.

These photos are nice especially when they queue the parents to child face (the first two).
I wonder how they do that.  Anyone have any idea?

doesn't have to be taken 1 time. smile.gif

QUOTE(merchant9 @ Nov 18 2010, 03:36 PM)
Since it is a DOF preview button, thought by pressing it on x aperture, f2.8 for example, and pressing it on f8. I should see some difference?

you should.

QUOTE(merchant9 @ Nov 18 2010, 03:36 PM)
I see, but cannot think of a scenario where this is required.

when you have subjects or areas in the scene with huge variation in brightness.

Of course, 60D is  a camera that packed with lots of features.Actually any camera will do if u understand the how the ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed  works smile.gif
QUOTE(chinti @ Nov 19 2010, 01:18 AM)
yup~ its enough for u to start up n learn~ 60D is a great dslr for newb tht wanna learn~
my 350D / 500D / 550D photos can put out on PRINT are good enough to impress world class judges to pass my MPA qualification.

one of the judges is Ryan Wong from Singapore, who is The MPA's Overseas Master Photographer of the Year 2010.

IMO that says enough about how good the entry-level bodies are.

if you think entry-level body is not good, think again.

QUOTE(jiunn9989 @ Nov 19 2010, 01:21 AM)
okay~
can i know what the different between canon 550d n 60d?

what kind of question is this la?

RM 3k+ body vs RM 2k+ body. obviously the one you pay more is better in specs la. smile.gif

hi guys..

lets say i wanna get a 500d, but i dont want to use the 18-55mm kit lens... for the same category (standard zoom iinm) and similar focal length what would be the best lens? any brands.. it'll be better if it defers only a few hundreds.. tongue.gif
why so?

kit lens not good enough for you? .......... but if you know it's not good enough for you then you should also know which lens to choose mah. smile.gif

just use the 18-55 IS first la. it's a good lens.

I see no reason for you to spend RM 1k++ for that Tamron 17-50.

simply because this mine not be what you like. it could be that you like macro, or like long zooms. it could be you like wide.

then that $$$$ could be channeled there. get familiar with the range fist, then only decide how to spend.

DON'T BUY WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW.

you can auto-focus when recording. just press the button that you assigned to do the AF in video mode. bear in mind it's damn slow la.

i use manual focus for video.

i'm using the term auto-focus as in how we half-press and the camera focuses on subject based on AF point. in video mode you can do that when recording.

i'm not talking about the Nikon type subject tracking. smile.gif

the more limiting the gear, the more you force yourself to think how to overcome the shortcomings.

Send back to Canon Malaysia to check? I for one don't bother to check shutter count. No idea why some are so bothered with it. Just fire a will!

+1 biggrin.gif

worry about shutter count is unnecessary. buy so expensive gear still want to worry about shutter count what for.

just go out happy shoot shoot away!
