Goldfries, thanks for the comment and critique.I still have so much more to learn from u
you're welcome. you kena critiqued by me only, that also I'm REALLY far from being the best out there.
i kena critiqued by top (and highly experienced) photographers from Malaysia / Singapore! but i learn a lot from them also la.
last week, some of you who follow my facebook / twitter - will know more or less, or at least part of what I went through.
http://www.twitpic.com/31sijvtoo lengthy to share but i will write about it later on.
to put it short - i applied for The MPA UK's (refer
http://www.thempa.com/index.php ) Licenciate qualification. After consulting the local top guy, i was advised to go with my food photos since they're my best and apply for Licenciate in the category under commercial / industrial.
i tell you despite going through my years of work - looking for my Top 20 best photo for the initial review session also so difficult. I added a few more but my best food photos I think most of them didn't make the cut. took some advice from the industry experts (they don't come to forums wan la) and understood the craft better - then improved my shots blablablablablablbala.
this is part of the reason why i go missing for a bit. it's NOT and easy thing to pass if you donno what you're doing. Basically my 20 were on prints and were being judged by a few Singapore's top photographers, CEO of the association and one local top guy - and I passed! phew!

after that one of my work won in The MPA South East Asia Annual Photo Convention's Print Competition, for the category Commercial / Industrial.

i took this qualification thing as a challenge, to see if my skill was up to THEIR very strict standards.

it was really fun. cost me a lot of time, sweat, money and sleep but it was well worth it.
