Looking for recommendations for alarm / CCTV system for a 2-storey link house...

For CCTV, I have cabling prepared for 8 points (4 in + 4 outdoors), but planning to install the 4x outdoor cameras first...

Any thoughts? Don't know much about alarm & CCTV systems. tongue.gif

I think 99% of the motion detector is PIR, normally those pet immune PIR will not generate false alarm.

I don't own this model, but I have paradox normal motion detector, so far no false alarm, at least I know it is immune to cat.

Use paradox brand PIR.
And if put outdoor, u need outdoor PIR. Don't use indoor PIR at outdoor. Sure a lot false alarm.

Depends how high ur dog.
NV780 got 2 beams each side, normally small pet will kena bottom beam, so no issue.
To trigger alarm, need block the 2 beams at either 1 side.

Have been weighing Bluguard and Paradox.... but finally chose bluguard for its value. two motion sensors are paradox, can view on phone app even on streamyx.....no false alarm even during thunderstorm, its been 5 months now, so im happy.

added 3 cynix cams plus surveillance-grade HDD and UPS to complete package.

clean job by these guys.

I did some testing by lying flat and crawling slowly on the floor, and found the PIR sometimes wouldn't detect even well in its range.
And my PIR isn't the pet friendly kind.

Wonder any workaround to this.

Ya. If lying flat, very big possible it won't detect.
If u test on NV780, confirm won't detect.
So the best place to install this NV780 is the place where intruder's body must detected by up n down beam of NV780 to access ur window/door. If not, don't use NV780.

Other than PIR, u can use photobeam/laserbeam.
There are 2 Beams, 3 Beams, 6 Beams, 10Beams type..

Are u using NV780 now?
U can adjust the NV780 sensitivity, the angel and the range.
Open the cover to adjust the left n right Lens plate.
If it is not adjusted properly, it won't work properly.

Oh, Wireless PIR. That even less sensitive, it has detection period, for example, 10sec detect then sleep for 30sec, then detect a again.. This is to save the battery.

Hi adam,
Few months back I contacted few alarm suppliers to get quotation on alarm and cctv. I met EEAutomation in one of the exhibition (HomeDec I think), but somehow I did not trust the sales guy. At the end I decided to go with Belco. I haven't started the installation work, but so far I am happy with his service in explaining things on alarm & cctv installation

How is ADT?
*
tq for your advise for benefit for the forummer... my brother kena already with this eeautomation company . bad and close to non after sales service. he end up change to Belco same as u. waste money.. bangwall.gif complaint through fb comment all kena delete.. dont trust this company... better trust whoever active in this forum...

Win100, I think you open the account to sabotage people. My previous vendor was Belco, but their service is not good. So I changed to eeautomation. My cafe and restaurant are using their services. Already 6 years. So far so good and their service is good.

My partition guy's service is not good at the beginning, but i now he is ok. May be the frequency not ngan with me. Sometimes we got to use different tactics dealing with contractors. My wife always complaint that i am a very particular person.

Added rtx3, and dct10 into my paradox. Been having random trigger from one zone so i convert into wireless .

If you use babyware software configuration will be simple. Rtx3 auto detect after putting into SP board and reboot.

Just a thought: could the randomness of it indicate of affecting say the sliding door in that zone? Like occasional draft or pressure change that causes door movement hence triggering. Perhaps tightening the door from draft movement using draught seals reduce the occurrence? One example I can think of is like this: upstairs jack roof extractor fan turned on. Negative pressure indoor sometimes the sliding door to rattle, etc.

Doubt so, that zone mainly magnetic and vibration sensors on Metal. And i can't grabs the pattern of vibration is just random, sometime when it happen it happen few time in 30mins while nothing inside and out. If its ok will be ok for weeks.

Now I break the zone to two, if it happen gain i will be able to drill down more.
