I bought my SP6000 set (10 vibration sensor, 4 magnetic sensor, 1 PIR sensor, 2 keypad and one voice module), it costs me around RM1200. I replaced it with my existing china made alarm by DIY.

So far it is quite okay, only there is one time the pass code ran away (weird), I have to hard reset the whole alarm. and also the stay D doesn't work anymore after hard reset.

Mind sharing where do you get this one. Rm1200 include installation? Conceal?
*
RM 1200 is without installation. my house come with the alarm wire concealed, so I just need to replace the main board.

You can visit the following website, their store is located at bandar puteri, puchong. the basic SP6000 package is RM790 without installation.

my house doesn't come with telephone lines. everything by TM fibre optic. so now, TM says no available ports for us yet.

if this is the case, what options do i have? is an alarm with GSM module and a new sim card the only option?

another question, the ADT will contact the police if they can't reach us, correct? do the police actually come and how fast?
*
Paradox can trigger a phone call to you over Unifi VOIP when there is an alarm, at least it works for me.

I have a pre-installed alarm in my house, IDS X-Series. I have been told that I can add CCTV to the alarm system. Anyone heard of this alarm before?

I was thinking off adding some of Paradox module to this alarm. Anyone knows whether this is possible?

If I want to replace the current alarm with say Paradox, can it use the existing wiring or have to use new wiring?
*
You can use the existing wiring, I did it for mine alarm system, no issue at all.

The Paradox SP6000 series should be 8 z0nes..

If you want to connect the phone lines to your alarm panel, you should get the VDMP3 plug in voice module instead of the IP150 Ip module. IP module can only be controlled  through web browser and notification by email.

Yes, SP6000 is 8 zone, and VDMP3 is better and much cheaper! last time I installed SP6000 myself with 8 contacts + 1 PIR sensor, less than RM1000. if got electrical/electronic technical background, it is not difficult to install.

Is there any home alarm that have home automation integrated into it ?

With the phone apps, you can control and monitor your alarm. It is a trend coming now.

"Alexa, arm my house"
*
Yes, Smartthings, I'm using it now, fully integrated to Alexa, and best thing is you don't even need to say to Alexa to arm, because it is automatically arm when you left the house by using present sensor (phone GPS fence)

hi guys, has anyone had installed alarm system that will make calls to your phone when the alarm is triggered without telephone line, but using VOIP? May i know what is needed?

TM does not service my area at the moment and therefore my house will not have telephone line.
*
Paradox VDMP3 module work with Unifi VOIP, I'm using it, alarm trigger will call my phone and I will be able to use phone to disarm or arm and also know which zone get triggered.

I would recommend you get something that works with GPRS GSM module and runs on apps or even SMS. I find the Unifi unreliable. for example, what If the thief would to cut the power supply of your premises? I'm sure alarm system have a backup battery even they try to break-in, the alarm will go off but communication to your phone relies on UniFi and Unifi modem require power supply. Meaning that no power supply for your UniFi modem means no communication/notification about your alarm triggered.

Recently I've attend ISF 2017 back in last month, the future of alarm system will be using your phone android / iOS thru their apps and cloud system to notify your alarm status and controlling your system. No more phone calls or even sms. Just push notification on apps. Making it more user friendly.
*
Put an UPS for Unifi BTU and router, issue resolved! I have UPS for backup power for all network switches/router/BTU/IPCAM

Alarm system relying cloud or internet for notification is alternative, the best way is having both for redundancy.

but sometime UniFi will fail, and having an UPS is ideal but leads to another device to maintain (UPS battery replacement)

The new solution is having a global SIM GPRS module which the SIM card built in have connection to 3 network (Celcom, DiGi, Maxis) and it has auto network switching if any network fails. Isn't that more reliable?
*
That is good but it is costly, UPS doesn't have monthly bill smile.gif anyway, my unifi is pretty reliable, downtime is less than 10 hours a year, so I think it is good enough for me

Anyone tried Passive Infra-red (PIR) motion detector before? is it reliable? or still will have a lot false alarm?
*
I think 99% of the motion detector is PIR, normally those pet immune PIR will not generate false alarm.

I don't own this model, but I have paradox normal motion detector, so far no false alarm, at least I know it is immune to cat.

Sorry for tagging u so long ago.
I just changed to maxis fibre from unifi.
My paradox vdmp3 initially was connected via a splitter to my phone through unifi fixed line.
Upon changing to maxis fibre it doesn't work anymore.
Do u have any idea how to fix this?
*
Sound like Maxis voip phone does not fully support dial tone pstn, if there is no dial tone, no way to fix it.

I was quoted about RM2.5k for Paradox + the internet module, 20 points sensor, 2 keypads and 1 pet immune sensor for the roof. Melaka area too.
*
If go for a smart home solution, the price is probably less than RM1.2K, smart home solution such as Aqara/Xiaomi is wireless, IoT technology, better app to mange house security, able to integrate to voice control such as Alexa, Google Home.

SP6000, K32LCD+ x2, DG75 is the pet immune sensor for the roof and IP150 internet module... the 20 sensors... not mentioned if its Paradox or not. I haven't asked more detail cause haven't confirmed who to engage yet  laugh.gif
A bit skeptical for wireless system, used the Sharp SmartHome before... well not reliable... those 433MHz some of the doors got issues la. So with the wiring for sure go with wired solution... Plus Paradox so far usage pretty reliable... the swan server also so far no problem before.

The Sharp SmartHome I used, forever disconnect and all. I guess the newer tech with zigbee system will be much more reliable.
*
most of the security devices for Aqara/Xiaomi smart home are using zigbee wireless, I've been using xiaomi zigbee for 4 years, it is pretty stable and reliable. uptime is 99.99% for last year at least.

my 10 years old paradox is now acted as backup security devices
