my house doesn't come with telephone lines. everything by TM fibre optic. so now, TM says no available ports for us yet.

if this is the case, what options do i have? is an alarm with GSM module and a new sim card the only option?

another question, the ADT will contact the police if they can't reach us, correct? do the police actually come and how fast?

I have a pre-installed alarm in my house, IDS X-Series. I have been told that I can add CCTV to the alarm system. Anyone heard of this alarm before?

I was thinking off adding some of Paradox module to this alarm. Anyone knows whether this is possible?

If I want to replace the current alarm with say Paradox, can it use the existing wiring or have to use new wiring?

the thing is i don't know how to operate the system, don't even have user manual.. the buttons mean what, error messages mean what, how many sensors installed, all don't know. 

The Paradox SP6000 series should be 8 z0nes..

If you want to connect the phone lines to your alarm panel, you should get the VDMP3 plug in voice module instead of the IP150 Ip module. IP module can only be controlled  through web browser and notification by email.
     

Is there any home alarm that have home automation integrated into it ?

With the phone apps, you can control and monitor your alarm. It is a trend coming now.

hi guys, has anyone had installed alarm system that will make calls to your phone when the alarm is triggered without telephone line, but using VOIP? May i know what is needed?

TM does not service my area at the moment and therefore my house will not have telephone line.

I would recommend you get something that works with GPRS GSM module and runs on apps or even SMS. I find the Unifi unreliable. for example, what If the thief would to cut the power supply of your premises? I'm sure alarm system have a backup battery even they try to break-in, the alarm will go off but communication to your phone relies on UniFi and Unifi modem require power supply. Meaning that no power supply for your UniFi modem means no communication/notification about your alarm triggered.

Recently I've attend ISF 2017 back in last month, the future of alarm system will be using your phone android / iOS thru their apps and cloud system to notify your alarm status and controlling your system. No more phone calls or even sms. Just push notification on apps. Making it more user friendly.

but sometime UniFi will fail, and having an UPS is ideal but leads to another device to maintain (UPS battery replacement)

The new solution is having a global SIM GPRS module which the SIM card built in have connection to 3 network (Celcom, DiGi, Maxis) and it has auto network switching if any network fails. Isn't that more reliable?

Anyone tried Passive Infra-red (PIR) motion detector before? is it reliable? or still will have a lot false alarm?

why the alarm vibration so sensitive la, ppl play firecracker it trigger, thunderstorm it trigger too. any idea is supposed to work like this?

I just changed to maxis fibre from unifi.
My paradox vdmp3 initially was connected via a splitter to my phone through unifi fixed line.
Upon changing to maxis fibre it doesn't work anymore.
Do u have any idea how to fix this?

I was quoted about RM2.5k for Paradox + the internet module, 20 points sensor, 2 keypads and 1 pet immune sensor for the roof. Melaka area too.

SP6000, K32LCD+ x2, DG75 is the pet immune sensor for the roof and IP150 internet module... the 20 sensors... not mentioned if its Paradox or not. I haven't asked more detail cause haven't confirmed who to engage yet 
A bit skeptical for wireless system, used the Sharp SmartHome before... well not reliable... those 433MHz some of the doors got issues la. So with the wiring for sure go with wired solution... Plus Paradox so far usage pretty reliable... the swan server also so far no problem before.

The Sharp SmartHome I used, forever disconnect and all. I guess the newer tech with zigbee system will be much more reliable.
