Anyone install external PIR or infrared sensors pls share. My alarm guy told me the PIR will trigger by pets n lizard...  best is using photobeam, still searching for the best solution
*
Your alarm guy not read enough about DG85, it even pet immune and will not triger alarm for intruder weight less than 40kg. I am using it for more than 2 months and never give me false alarm. Photobeam used for different purpose.

Anyway no photobeam from paradox, my installer recommed brand aleeph for photobeam.

Does paradox come with "telephone call to activate or deactivate" the alarm?

You need to buy vdmp3 (RM150) to make your paradox connected to phone or buy IP100(RM600) to make your paradox connected to internet.

I opted to use iphone apps(iParadox). Paradox provide dns server for their customer

Has anyone has this alarm cover the main gate as well?
i.e. someone force open your main gate and will trigger the alarm.

Thinking of install magnetic strip to the main gate as well in case someone tries to steal my car.

My Paradox SP5500
They install it for you plus wiring?
or you have wiring ready?

Thanks!

Added on May 10, 2012, 8:06 amfor security system wiring setup, since most wireman dunno about security system, how u guys prepare it?
for me, i need to buy cables and tell them how to wire, but im not sure if i can tell my wireman correctly. (i have not decided which one to buy)

controller+keypad = near door
door/window switch = 2 wire (for the 3 rooms, need to wire all the up to 2nd floor, must be expensive)
motion detector = 4 wire (still have not decided how many needed), put in corner front/back...still thinking should put on 2nd floor)

I don't have a backyard, it's the side door towards the garden. The side door is usually locked, seldom opened. I don't have it on main door grille. If you put it there, u have to be careful when you open your grille daily, unlocking padlock etc. biggrin.gif The vibration sensor usually is instantly triggered, not like the front door magnetic sensor that has xx seconds for you to turn off the alarm.

You are correct bro, unless you parallel both sensors into the same zone then it will allow you to have xx seconds for you to disarm. IMHO, if setup grill with vibration sensor at your main gate, it is good for security but will increase the chance of triggering false alarm, like small animal knock one the gate etc (my old house, bird use to do such silly thing).

im not sure for all these vibration sensor for grill, its not that the burglar is a monkey that hard shake the grill , then again if set to minimum sensitivity will not trigger to the alarm , i always put my self in the burglar shoe.....if i want to go in ur house , first thing is see where is the sensor and disable it first....it has to be attached to the grill....logically easy to take out ....

i've yet to get a alarm system for my house .....with all these thinking i still couldnt get a robust system that will pass me first. Sometime i feel really sad that we live in fear even in our own property .....how can we improve this in malaysia?
